The trail for trekking Poon Hill, Nepal is considered to be very easy, to say optimally is that you can climb the stairs is likely you can go trekking. I am also an office worker, before going I just exercise gently for one month, but still go well. Poon Hill also has moderate altitude with the high peak is 3,210m, so the symptoms appear due to the difference in height is not significant. Let’s check out our suggested Poon Hill trek itinerary 4 days on how to spend 4 days for trekking from Pokhara.

The scenery is very beautiful and attractive your mind. With the good weather, you can see the highest snow peaks of the Himalayas as well as admire the rich vegetation of the Annapurna ecological region. The ideal time to go trekking in this trail is from September to April. The period from October to March on the peak Poon Hill will have snow so you remember to prepare the appropriate outfit. The period from May to August is the rainy season, so there are slippery roads and have quite a few visitors. Let discover the details of your experience of Pokhara – Poon Hill short trekking in about 4 to 5 days with Living Nomads below.
Small note for your trip
If you are the rush, you can conquer Poon Hill within 3 days but most people go 4 to 5 days. With longer schedules, you will save energy and have more time to admire and immerse yourself in the beauty of the Nepalese mountains and forests. Often, the guesthouses accept you to send the luggage to the trek for free, but you need to remember to bring a lock for peace of mind.
Trekking in Nepal is basically transferring from one village to another, and every stop has its own guesthouse, which is also very affordable, with a $ 4 for the double room. Even some motels you can negotiate will have breakfast and dinner at their place, so the owner can free the room.
Eating at the guesthouse from $ 4 to $ 5 a meal. There are also many kinds of food like fried rice, fried noodles, and noodles. Especially the Dal Bhat (a traditional Nepalese food, including rice, lentil soup which supplies the good power). You can ask for food for free again, finish eat but still hungry, then say people give more until you are full. Is it wonderful?
Due to the impact of tourism sometimes the children will ask you for chocolate or money when meeting or after you take pictures of them, you should politely refuse them.
If you choose to travel by yourself without a guide or tour guide, make sure you buy a detailed map of Annapurna (which is pretty much sold in Pokhara) to bring along. If you feel uncertain, ask the people in the street who they will be happy to show you.
Day 1: Pokhara- Nayapul – Tirkedhunga -Ulleri
From the bus station in Pokhara, you buy a ticket to Nayapul (remember to bring your driver down to Nayapul, to be sure to write in the paper to see the driver) car within 1-2 hours, fare 150 Nepalese rupees ($ 1.5). From the bus stop at Nayapul, go straight for 30 minutes you can see the first mountain village of Bileri.
Going through an iron bridge will encounter the first checkpoint, you should remember to stop to show the passport, TIMS card, and Permits card to test offline. From here begins the journey to conquer Poon Hill.
The first destination is Tikhedhunga Village. This road you follow the path which is available. On the road, you will meet a lot of players from all over the world, so if you go alone, you will not afraid of sad or lost.
The first road from Bileri to Tikhedhunga is quite light, mostly straight road, and you need to go about 2 and a half hours. To Tikhedhunga, you can stay overnight if you start in the late morning. But if you have the strength and time allowed, then follow the advice of some experienced players on the road, try to go to Ulleri to stay overnight. The scene in Ulleri much better and you will see an Annapurna South. You also have time to save the energy for the next day.
After about 3 hours of climbing, I reached the beautiful village of Ulleri. After a few days of looking forward, finally I can see the first snow mountain, Annapurna South is seen from the village of Ulleri. It is 6 o’clock in the evening, I have a rest, dinner in Ulleri village and prepare for adventures tomorrow.
Day 2: Ulleri to Ghorepani
After breakfast, about 7 o’clock to say goodbye to Ulleri and continue the journey, along with the way available to go. The road segment today is less steep than yesterday afternoon, giving me the strength to see the scenery more. Luckily the weather is good, the forest scene is beautiful and poetic as in fairy tales.
The beautiful and bluey scene make myself sometimes fall in love that does not want to step away. The senses stretch as if to collect all the wonderful emotions that nature brings. I stopped for lunch in Nangethanti after 4 hours trekking, this point is very close to Ghorepani already. Continue moving, feeling close to the destination that is lightly and no longer rushed.
The flora is extremely rich, I like the way Nepalese people do travel, they are very conscious and know how to preserve nature. The roads are long and so many people that rarely see rubbish.
After a slightly steep slope from Nangethani, I also reached Ghorepani. This time lasts only 3 hours. It is faster than I think much. Here is a checkpoint TIMS and Permits card again. I can find out more snow mountains. With the first time I have seen the snow, this feeling is very excited.
Most people come to Poon Hill to see the sunrise, but a few people know that watching the sunset on Poon Hill is very beautiful. Because of fewer people, you will have more space to take photos. Unfortunately, the weather was not good. There was too much fog that made the snow not clear.
From Ghorepani to Poon Hill peak, I need to climb the mountain about 1 hour. It is still early, although I guess I can not see the sunset, I am so eager to see climb to the peak to see the sunset. Then the fog down pretty much, I returned to take rest, have dinner for the next day. On Ghorepani, if you go from October to March, there will be snow, so pay attention to the costumes. This time in early May, the snow has already melted, but the weather is still very cold about ten degrees which is enough to make a child always in the South as sunny shivering.
Poon Hill trek itinerary 4 days: Day 3: Ghorepani – Poon Hill – Ghorepani – Tadapani – Ghandrunk
From early morning, I wake up from 4 hours to prepare to pick up Poon Hill dawn. At this time you need to use the headlamp to move and the retail price of 50 Nepalese rupees pay for tickets. This ticket only pays when you pick up the dawn and also you do not have to pay. You should also carry a little more money to the top can drink hot tea, priced at 80-150 Nepalese rupee a small cup.
At the top of the mountain, there is very crowded. The main purpose of this trip is everyone wants to see the dawn from the Annapurna South snow gorge. The moment that dozens of people would expect is beautiful and gorgeous dawn. The moment the sun protrudes, everyone applauds together joyfully, feeling like his work is paid off properly.
About 7 am, the sunshine is high. Although I so regretted, I also returned to Ghorepani village to eat breakfast and prepare the luggage. When starting to come back, I choose another trip to change, you can choose to go back with the old way.
The first step of the climb back up the mountain is quite hard. The scene is still very beautiful with grass, blue sky, white clouds and snow mountains. I just want to sit to be immersed in nature only.New Nepal is truly worthy of being famous for its beautiful trekking paths.
Going to Ghandruk, this road you will have to go once more mountain. At the top of the mountain is the village of Tadapani. You should take rest in Tadapani, then go down about 2 hours, you will reach the village of Ghandruk.
The stacked rocks appear all over the trek, as well as a unique feature of Nepal. Each passerby takes a tabletop to the top of the stone tower, the bridge of peace, luck, or simply raise the stack of stone available. On the way, you will also meet the Yak which is similar to the buffalo. This animal provides agricultural drag and its fur is for making wrapped towel, making it a popular blanket for Nepalese mountains because the production is thin but extremely warm.
Finally, I arrived in Ghandruk after 8 hours from Ghorepani. Ghandruk is a village which is famous for Gurung people, but with me, this is the village with the most beautiful and romantic view that I have ever seen. I chose this place to rest for the third day.
Poon Hill trek itinerary 4 days: Day 4: Ghandruk – Nayapul – Pokhara
Early in the morning, Ghandruk welcomes you with the birds singing, splendid sunrise on the majestic snow-capped mountains. From here, you can see part of the Annapurna South and Fishtail Mountain. The scene cannot be more beautiful and brilliant.
I feel very peaceful life, the usual jargon does not seem to be here. People live in harmony and peace with nature. Regrettably, it was time to say goodbye to the beautiful romantic village of Ghandruk to continue the journey back.
From the village of Ghandruk just back down the road so I was pretty relaxed today. On the slightly softer, mostly straight and downhill, occasionally meet the goat go to stroll.verything is made of stone, from which the branches rise to create a bluish color throughout the road and the wall. On the slightly softer, mostly straight and downhill, occasionally meet the goat go to stroll.
Ghandrunk arrived at the last TIMS and Permit card inspection station in Bileri for 3-4 hours. From here, you will arrive at the bus station, from there take the car to the Pokhara bus station, or you can take a taxi straight back to your hotel in Pokhara.
My journey is 4 days, you can go on a 5-day itinerary as suggested below:

Day 2: Tikhedhunga – Ghorepani
