10 days in Taiwan — Day 1: Taipei: Visiting all the famous spots in Taipei city by MRT
Taipei is a very special city. It is not difficult to find an row of old houses located next to a skyscraper. It also is not difficult to see the bustling night markets with 10 thousand extremely delicious food but clean and tidy.. Generally coming to Taipei, you will have a basket of emotions when leaving.
Staying in Taipei for 4 days is fine (it’s just okay because we has been here for more than a thousand days and still find something new every day).
First, you should buy a “holy” Easy Card (priced at 200 TWD, available 100 TWD) to travel to the inner city attractions by MRT. You can buy it in advance here or buy at convenient stores such as 7 Eleven.
Morning
Chiang Kai Shek Memorial Hall: This is a VERY BEAUTIFUL square. This place will explain a lot about Taiwan’s history, so those who love history must definitely visit. Inside there is a huge statue of Chiang Kai-shek and one interesting thing is that every hour there is a very formal guard change ceremony.
Getting there: Take the MRT to Chiang Kai Shek Memorial Hall Station. Exit 5.
Longshan Temple: The temple is small but very famous in Taipei because of its sacredness. Not only Taiwanese people come here to pray, but also tourists often visit.
Getting there: Take the MRT to Long Shan Temple Station.
Noon + Afternoon
Lunch at the famous Dimsum restaurant Din Tai Fung at Taipei 101.
See the Dimsum Din Tai Fung review here.

Go to the Taipei 101 Observatory to see the panoramic of Taipei.
After eating Dimsum at Din Tai Fung in the basement, you can go to Taipei 101 to visit. If you want to getting to the Taipei 101 Observatory, you need to buy tickets to take the high-speed elevator to the 89th floor. Sisi Nan Cun (Sisi South Village): An old village is opposite to Taipei 101 so it is easy to reach by foot. Formerly a dormitory for workers of 44th military factory, the later was kept as a small art exhibition venue for Taipei youths. This place is very easy to take pictures for virtual living and on weekends, it also often hosts flea market or lovely art activities.
Or maybe visit
Xiangshan (Elephant Mountain): This activity should be for young people and like to exercise a bit, because although Elephant mountain is not too high, and there are stairs to go up but because it is very steep, so when you reach the top, it is very tired. But from the mountain, you can see the beautiful Taipei 101 and see the whole of Taipei.
Getting there: Take the MRT to XiangShan station (end of the red line)
