What Makes Legoland Korea a Global Sensation?
Legoland Korea (Shuttle with Ticket) / Rail Bike Day Tour from Seoul
Legoland Korea Resort is located on Jungdo Island in Chuncheon City, Gangwon Province. Spanning 280,000 square meters, it is the LEGO brand’s 10th theme park worldwide. What sets the Korean location apart is its prime position amidst Lake Uiamho, offering an airy, fresh atmosphere and incredibly picturesque views—features rarely found at other Legoland parks in Malaysia or Japan.
LEGOLAND ® Korea Resort Ticket
The park is divided into seven distinct themed zones, each telling a unique story: from medieval castles and a mystical ninja world to a miniature modern city. The park features over 40 rides, shows, and hands-on brick-building activities designed to stimulate intelligence and creativity. While Legoland is specifically tailored for children aged 2 to 12, take my word for it: even adults will be left breathless by the intricate detail and craftsmanship of the models on display.
When Is the Best Time to Visit Legoland Gangwon?
South Korea experiences four distinct seasons, and Legoland takes on a unique charm in each one. However, to ensure the most enjoyable experience, it is worth considering the weather.
Spring (March – May): This is when the weather is most pleasant—neither too cold nor too hot. In April, in particular, you can admire cherry blossoms in full bloom across Jungdo Island, creating a wonderfully romantic atmosphere around the park.
Autumn (September – November): This is my personal favorite time to visit. The golden and crimson foliage of the Gangwon region blankets the island, creating stunning photo opportunities when paired with the colorful brick structures. The crisp, cool weather is perfect for outdoor activities.

Summer (June – August): This season tends to be hot and rainy. However, it is the prime time for the “Pirate Shores” area and water-based attractions to shine. If you plan to visit in the summer, be sure to pack rain gear and sunscreen.
Winter: Gangwon is the coldest region in South Korea. Some outdoor rides or water attractions may be temporarily closed for maintenance. However, if you want to experience a snow-covered LEGO kingdom, this is also a fantastic choice.
Getting to Legoland Korea from Seoul is incredibly easy.
Although located in Gangwon Province, traveling from Seoul to Legoland Korea is very convenient. Here are the three most popular options:
1. ITX-Cheongchun Train (The Fastest Way)
Depart from Yongsan Station or Cheongnyangni Station in central Seoul. Book a ticket on the ITX-Cheongchun express train bound for Chuncheon Station. The journey takes about 60–75 minutes. Upon arrival at Chuncheon Station, exit through Exit 1; a bright yellow, free Legoland shuttle bus will be waiting to take you directly to the park entrance.
2. Klook Shuttle Bus (The Most Convenient Way)
If you are traveling with young children and prefer to avoid train transfers or worrying about shuttle schedules, I recommend booking the round-trip shuttle bus package from Seoul via Klook. The bus typically picks up passengers at central locations like Myeongdong or Dongdaemun, takes you straight to the destination, and brings you back on schedule. You can simply hop on, take a nap, and arrive!
3. Private Car Rental or Self-Driving
10-Hour Private Car Charter from Seoul: Nami Island, Alpaca World & Sokcho
If you wish to combine your visit with a trip to nearby Nami Island or Alpaca World, renting a private car is the best option. The highway from Seoul to Chuncheon is scenic and easy to navigate, taking about 1.5 to 2 hours depending on traffic.
Guide to Buying Legoland Korea Tickets Quickly and Affordably
Gate prices are usually quite high, ranging from approximately 60,000 to 66,000 KRW (depending on whether it is a weekday or weekend). To save on your travel budget, it is best to book your tickets in advance via Klook.
Why book with Klook?
- Better prices: Frequent discounts of up to 20–30% are available.
- Convenient e-tickets: Simply scan the QR code at the entrance—no need to queue for paper tickets.
- Flexibility: Various combo options are available, including admission paired with shuttle services or dining vouchers.
Note: Admission is free for children under 2 years old. Families should bring a passport or proof of age for the child, just in case!
Explore the 7 Themed Zones at Legoland Korea: A Detailed Review
To avoid getting lost in this vast kingdom, let’s walk through each area together, starting from the entrance!
1. Brick Street: Where It All Begins
Upon passing through the main gate, you enter Brick Street, a welcoming area featuring modern LEGO-inspired architecture. Here, you simply cannot miss The Big Shop—South Korea’s largest LEGO store—home to rare building sets and exclusive minifigures.
Next, hop on the LEGO Factory Adventure Ride, a fascinating indoor attraction that simulates the experience of being shrunk down to the size of a brick, allowing you to explore the entire manufacturing process behind those legendary colorful blocks.
2. Bricktopia: A Creative Paradise for Young Engineers
Nami Island+Alpaca+RailBike+Petite+LEGOLAND+Morning Calm PrivateTour
This zone focuses on construction and brain-teasing activities. Visitors can start their journey at the LEGO Observatory, which lifts you dozens of meters into the air for a spectacular panoramic view of Jungdo Island and Chuncheon City.
Afterwards, families with children under five can enjoy a ride on the charming DUPLO® Express train, or visit the “Build & Test” area, where budding engineers can assemble their own race cars and put their speed to the test on exciting wooden tracks.
3. LEGO Castle: A Quest to Conquer the Mighty Dragon
Legoland Korea (Shuttle with Ticket) / Rail Bike Day Tour from Seoul
Stepping into LEGO Castle feels like being transported back to the Middle Ages, complete with knights, princesses, and stone fortresses. The unmissable highlight here is “The Dragon”—the park’s most popular thrill ride. This green dragon-themed roller coaster takes you through the castle’s interior before plunging and twisting outside, delivering an exhilarating yet child-safe experience. Additionally, Merlin’s Challenge offers an exciting experience featuring high-speed spinning aboard Merlin’s magical vehicles.
4. LEGO Ninjago World: Become a Real Ninja
A must-visit for die-hard fans of the Ninjago series. The entire area is designed in a traditional Japanese style but constructed entirely from LEGO bricks. You certainly shouldn’t miss LEGO® NINJAGO® The Ride, a top-tier interactive 4D attraction. Instead of using guns or controllers, you use your own hands to unleash “lightning,” “fire,” and “ice” moves to defeat enemies on the big screen. Your arms might feel tired after the ride, but the fun is guaranteed!
5. Pirate Shores: Thrilling Water Cannon Battles
LEGOLAND® Round-trip Shuttle+Admission Ticket(New Nami Island route)
If you visit during the summer, this will likely be where you spend the most time, thanks to the exciting water battles. At Splash Battle, you board a pirate ship and use water cannons to fire at other ships and people on the shore; conversely, those on land have their own cannons to fire back, leaving everyone soaking wet but laughing non-stop. Meanwhile, Anchors Away offers a realistic swaying sensation with a pendulum-style pirate ship ride that glides along a winding track.
6. LEGO City: A Dream City for Kids
Alpaca+LEGOLAND+Nami Island+RailBike+Morning Calm Private Tour
This is the largest area and features the most role-playing attractions for children. At the Driving School, kids aged 6–12 can learn basic traffic rules, drive their own cute electric cars, and receive a photo-adorned “Legoland Driver’s License” as a souvenir. Fire Academy is an attraction that requires the whole family to work together, manually pumping water to move the fire truck and extinguish a simulated fire—a great way to foster family bonding. Additionally, Coastguard Academy allows children to pilot their own boats on the water, navigating through fun LEGO obstacles.
7. MINILAND: A Breathtaking Miniature Korea
Nami Island & Mt.Seorak & Alpaca Seasonal Tour
This is the “heart and soul” of every Legoland park. Miniland Korea uses millions of bricks to recreate the country’s famous landmarks with astonishing detail. You will see:
- Gyeongbokgung Palace: Featuring thousands of tiny figures performing the changing of the guard ceremony.
- Namsan Tower & Lotte World Tower: Iconic Seoul landmarks standing tall amidst the miniature cityscape.
- Busan City: Featuring Haeundae Beach and skyscrapers.
- Jeju Island: Featuring Hallasan Mountain and distinctive stone statues. The models here aren’t just static; they feature moving parts and lively sound effects when you press interactive buttons.
5 Must-Try Attractions at Legoland Korea
If you are short on time, prioritize these five:
- The Dragon (LEGO Castle): The most thrilling roller coaster.
- LEGO® NINJAGO® The Ride: A hands-free 4D technology experience.
- Splash Battle (Pirate Shores): Fun-filled water play.
- Driving School (LEGO City): An exciting educational and role-playing experience for kids.
- LEGO Factory Adventure Ride (Brick Street): Discover the secrets behind the bricks.
Staying at Legoland Hotel: Is It Worth the Money?
Right at the park entrance stands the colorful Legoland Korea Resort Hotel, which looks as though it were assembled from giant building blocks. Guests can choose from four room themes—Kingdom, Ninjago, Pirates, or Friends—each featuring a unique design that includes a dedicated sleeping area for children with bunk beds and a separate relaxation area for adults.
The experience here is made even more exciting by the treasure hunt activity, where children must decipher a code to unlock an in-room safe and claim a prize—a bag of LEGOs. Additionally, the hotel offers various amenities, including an indoor play area, a swimming pool, and the Bricks Family Restaurant buffet. If possible, staying overnight makes for a more complete trip, allowing you early access to the park without a long commute.
Important Tips for a Perfect Trip
Download the Legoland Korea App: This is a must-do. The app provides a GPS map, real-time wait times for rides, and the daily show schedule.
South Korea is a cashless society: Legoland Korea operates a cashless policy, meaning cash is not accepted at food and retail outlets. Be sure to have a Visa or Mastercard, or a popular local e-wallet like WOWPASS, ready to use.
Arrive early (Rope Drop): The park usually opens at 10:00 AM. Arriving 30 minutes early allows you to complete entry procedures and be among the first to enjoy popular rides like “The Dragon” before the midday crowds arrive.
Nami Island / Alpaca/Rail Bike/Petite France/Morning Calm 1Day Tour
Pack essentials: If visiting in summer, bring a spare set of clothes, as water rides will likely get you wet. Don’t forget a portable charger—you’ll be taking plenty of photos!
Check your child’s height: Most rides have minimum height requirements (usually starting at 90cm or 105cm). Check the website or app beforehand to avoid the disappointment of queuing only to be denied entry to a ride.

Apple Fries (Knight’s Treats): A legendary Legoland snack. These are apple strips, deep-fried until crispy, coated in cinnamon sugar, and served with whipped cream. It might sound unusual, but the taste is incredibly addictive!
