My family and I just returned from our “conquest” of Disneysea Japan, and the feeling can only be summed up in two words: Absolutely amazing! Unlike the dreamy Disneyland, Disneysea is full of adventure and mystery, and is the world’s only marine-themed park. If you’re planning a trip soon, bookmark this post!

I’ll share all the essential tips for a day at Disneysea Japan that will make you forget everything else, without worrying about long queues. Get ready to immerse yourself in the ocean world!
Tips for “Fast” Preparation for Families

To prevent your fun day from turning into a “torture,” preparation is extremely important. The biggest mistake is waiting until you get to the gate to buy tickets because the long lines will drain all your energy. We booked our tickets in advance on Klook; we just saved the QR code to our phone and scanned it to go in – it was incredibly relaxed.

Besides that, install the Tokyo Disney Resort app right away. This app is like a living map, showing exactly how long the wait time is for each ride and helping you register for a Priority Pass or buy Disney Premier Access (DPA) in a flash.
| Ticket/Service Type | Uses | For |
|---|---|---|
| 1-Day Passport | All-day park admission ticket | All visitors |
| Disney Premier Access (DPA) | Pay a fee to enter the priority attraction/show hot lane. | People who want to save time |
| 40th Anniversary Priority Pass | Priority tickets are free for some attractions. | People who want to reduce their queue time. |
| Standby Pass | Tickets are for entry to the waiting area during designated time slots. | People who want to go to crowded areas/attractions. |

Morning: Conquering New Wonders and Volcanoes

We arrived at the gate at 7:45 to queue early. As soon as we passed through the gate, we opened the app to get a Standby Pass for Fantasy Springs – a brand new area inspired by Frozen and Peter Pan. Stepping into the world of Anna and Elsa was incredibly exciting; the kids were jumping for joy.

Next, we went straight to Mysterious Island. The Journey to the Center of the Earth ride offers an exhilarating thrill as the train speeds out of the Prometheus volcano. If you’re with young children, check out 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. The experience of exploring the deep sea in a mini-submarine is both mysterious and safe for kids. Don’t forget to visit Mediterranean Harbor and try Soaring: Fantastic Flight to soar across continents!
Lunch: Recharge with Unique Cuisine

After a tiring day, Casbah Food Court on the Arabian Coast is the perfect stop. The curry rice here is incredibly fragrant, and the generous portions will help the whole family recover quickly. The A-Lonely Nights-themed atmosphere is also a great spot for Instagram-worthy photos. If you prefer Italian style, Zambini Brothers’ Ristorante with its crispy pizza won’t disappoint.
Afternoon: Lost in Wonderland
Afternoon is dedicated to the little ones. Mermaid Lagoon is a true paradise! This area is entirely indoors, with cool air conditioning, perfect for escaping the heat. Games like Jumpin’ Jellyfish or watching underwater musicals will keep the kids entertained and forget about their afternoon naps.

Tokyo Private Transfer to Disneyland, Disneysea
When the sun has cooled down, head to American Waterfront to conquer Toy Story Mania! This is a super fun 3D shooting game where the whole family can compete to see who gets the highest score. For those who like a thrill, Tower of Terror, with its freefall in a haunted hotel, will definitely make you scream your lungs out.
Evening: Light Show and Shopping
Around 6:30 PM, I took the opportunity to visit the Emporio store to buy souvenirs. Cute Mickey Mouse or Duffy bear headbands were a must-have. Ending the day at DisneySea Japan with the Believe! Sea of Dreams show at 7:30 PM on Mediterranean Harbor. The combination of fireworks, lasers, and Disney characters on the water created an incredibly spectacular scene. The emotions were overwhelming at that moment, all the fatigue vanished!

Must-Try Foods at DisneySea
Visiting DisneySea without trying the popcorn is a huge mistake! There are flavors from garlic shrimp and curry to caramel. Buy a Disney character-shaped popcorn bucket to wear around your neck – it’s convenient and branded. Another “must-try” is the Gyoza Sausage Bun at Mysterious Island – the soft, smooth bun and flavorful meat filling are addictive.
Don’t forget to check in with the Little Green Dumplings shaped like green Aliens – adorable and incredibly delicious with three types of cool cream filling.
