How to get to Jiufen from Taipei by bus

You can take the MRT or bus and get off at the Zhongxiao Fuxing MRT station, exit at Exit 1 and go back to the first intersection, turn left and continue straight to find the bus stop and catch the bus No. 1062 to go to Jiufen. It will takes a total of about 1.5 hours to reach Jiufen, pay attention to watch the time so you do not get lost the station.

Traveling from Taipei to Ruifang

To get to Shifen or Jiufen, you first need to get to Ruifang Station by train. From Taipei, you go to Taipei Main Station to buy tickets to getting to Ruifang station, buy tickets at the ticket counter or vending machines are okay! There are many trains to choose from, so you don’t need to worry about missing the train. Travel time will takes about 45 minutes to 1 hour. Traveling from Ruifang to Jiufen

From Ruifang Station, follow the signs to find the bus stop, looking for the buses No. 788 or 827, 1062 to go to Jiufen. Besides, there is an bus No. 825 that only operates on weekends, but it’s also another option for us. It only takes about 15 minutes to reach Jiufen!

From Jiufen – Ruifang – Shifen

The sad news is that there is no direct trip from Jiufen to Shifen, so you need to go back to Ruifang station to choose the means to going on to Shifen.

Usually on the way to Shifen, young people will often visit the Houtong cat village by taking a train from Ruifang Station to Houtong Station (Pingxi line) (and it only takes about 7 minutes by train). Houtong Station itself is also very pretty, and just a few hundred meters away you will reach the cat village – where there are many cats walking leisurely or lying down. Well, every 1 hour there is a train from the Houtong station to Shifen so please watch the time to not miss the trip!

If you do not have enough time to visit Houtong, you can go directly from Ruifang station to Shifen station (also the Pingxi line). In addition, instead of going to Shifen to dropping the sky lanterns (often quite crowded), you can choose to experience at Pingxi – also a beautifuland unique small town which is no less than Shifen. Instead of stopping at Shifen Station, you can go straight to Pingxi Station.

Pingxi/Shifen – Ruifang – Taipei

On the way back, you will also move the same way as the first round. From Shifen you need to catch the train back to Ruifang station, from Ruifang station take the train back to Taipei main station. Take care not to be too busy shooting and forget about time, so you can miss the last train!
