Referring to Bali is referring to a resort paradise, with beautiful beaches, peaceful green terraced fields. What is more wonderful than staying in a separate villa, surrounded by the dominant green of rice fields and coconut trees, all of them are beautiful, or the apartment area with a charming blue swimming pool.
The 808 Residence Bali Hotel (808 Residence Canggu Bali) is one of the places I were stayed when coming to Bali, this hotel is strongly impressed by the airy space, the layout and the motifs that make me love at first sight.
The location of 808 Residence Bali
Address: Jl. Nelayan No.77X, Canggu, Kec. Kuta Utara, Kabupaten Badung, Bali, Indonesia
Hotel 808 Residence Bali is located in Canggu (Batu Bolong neighborhood), about 1 hour drive from Denpasar Airport, close to the northern area of Kuta. You can take a taxi from the airport for around IDR 300.000, or find Grab or Uber or a private transfer service with a better price of only around IDR 150.000. In the opposite direction, from the hotel to the airport, ask the staff to call a taxi for a fixed price of IDR 200.000, a 7-seat car.

Located just 3 minutes walk from the beach, coming here to watch the sunset is wonderful. This beach in Canggu stretches with fine sand, so many backpackers live here, so the beach is always bustling. Many beautiful beaches nearby are Berawa Beach, 0.6 km and Echo Beach, 1 km, and Batu Bolong Beach, 0.5 km away.
In addition, the hotel location is far away from the urban area, surrounded by lots of green rice fields so the atmosphere here is extremely airy. My first glance from the taxi saw an indescribable peace.
Hotel amenities and interiors
Of course, it was a peaceful at first sight when I was standing in front of the hotel entrance gate, the door was quite small, neat, decorated not too fussy but very delicate. Entering was a small surprise because the airy space with a large swimming pool, winding sexy, and a series of villas designed around the pool, elegant and very beautiful. I found out that the owner of this hotel also has 5 beautiful villas like this in Bali.
The hotel has a total of 11 rooms, divided into several types of rooms such as Deluxe Room, Standard Room, Apartment Room. Duluxe Room with Balcony and Family Room for the whole family. All rooms have an LCD TV, bathroom and toilet located in the room, plus tea and coffee kettle. My room is right next to the swimming pool, with transparent glass windows overlooking the pool and light always flooding the room. Free wifi is available throughout the property.
Breakfast is not included in the room rate when you book, but usually you will need to order separately when staying here, priced at $3/person/meal. However, there is a point that I love is the hotel that lets guests borrow motorbikes for free, you just have to leave your passport and take the motorbike, the helmet is also good, only need to fill up with gas and explore the beautiful Bali island. Gas prices on the island range IDR 7.500/liter.
Room rates at 808 Residence range from $30 – $120 depending on the room type.
Restaurants, places to hang out, visit near the 808 Residence Bali Hotel
Right opposite the hotel is a restaurant – or maybe called a eatery, cafe or Guesthouse – that is pretty good. This Serenity Eco Guest House (Agoda.com or Booking.com) restaurant specializes in vegetarian food, but when I came in, ordered and learned, I realized many good things about the effects of vegetables, vegetarian food on human health. The processing of the restaurant is also very eye-catching, more attractive to customers, and the way they introduce the food, giving information about health education in a subtle way is also a very worth learning point.
In the evening there is nothing more fun than taking a motorbike to riding to the nearby Seminyak entertainment area, many bustling bars and restaurants. This is the time when the backpackers gathered into large groups of motorbikes to go out to play and fun, on the village roads that felt no less than crowded streets. Drinks at bars are also very cheap, only IDK 30.000 – 50.000/bottle of beer or cocktail.
The nearest famous attraction to the hotel is the Tanah Lot Temple, which takes about 15-20 minutes rides by motorbike. If you want to go further spots like Ubud in the north or Uluwatu in the south of the island, it takes at least 1 hour drive. I don’t know how, Bali is horribly large!
Overall, everything at 808 Residence make me feel so good, enjoyment, at least save a lot of rent for the motorbike. Hotel staff are very enthusiastic, speak English well and meet your needs at any time. Even when we had checked out in the morning, went out all day in the evening to get our things to the airport, they still opened the door for us to take a shower and call a taxi for us.
Daily wake up in a peaceful dreamland, light sunny and cool, swimming around the pool then have a breakfast, rest, feeling like nothing else better. It makes me urge a dream that I will have to have a private apartment in Bali, living such a gentle life!
