Having set foot in the restaurant, visitors will be overwhelmed when seeing the atmosphere of traumatic death, covering all around. Black is the dominant color, it is the dark, scary scene. The decorations at the death cafe are all found in funerals such as coffins, wreaths, dry skeletons. The menu is named after four themes: “birth, age, disease, and death.” This death coffee is built for the purpose of letting visitors aware of death taste. People come here to imagine what they will die after, and those deadly experiences will inspire them to appreciate the precious moments of life. They will never know when they will die, so each day to live completely and meaningfully.
A guest said, “I did not feel comfortable in the coffin. I feel like I’m dead, not to see my parents, relatives, friends. I have not done what I want. I’m really afraid.”
Inside this death coffee shop, there are a lot of slogans and questions like “Are you ready to sleep and not wake up yet?”, “You can not carry anything at all.” If you are in the feeling to write something, take your pen and write your “python” words in the will on the table.
Every day, the shop is open for drinks from 10 am to 7 pm, and the test area for dead people is open from 12 noon to midnight. Visitors come to Kid Mai Death can experience climbing into the coffin and lie inside, closing the lid again for about 3 minutes.
