4 days in Bali itinerary — Day 1: Start Your Bali Discovery Journey in Ubud
Transfer from the Airport to Ubud & Check-in to Hotel

After landing at Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS), you should book a private car in advance to go straight to Ubud, a cool green highland located about 35 – 40 km from the airport. The journey takes about 1.5 to 2 hours depending on the time of day, but this journey is not boring. The further away from the crowded center, the more you will feel the slow pace of life, fresh air and endless green areas.

Around early afternoon, you will arrive at the natural accommodation area in Ubud. Depending on your preferences and budget, you can choose to stay in a private villa with a view of the rice fields, a boutique resort hidden in the forest, or a small, quiet hotel close to nature. Some suggestions worth considering include. After checking in, take some time to rest, soak in the pool, or simply open the window to take a deep breath of fresh air, listen to the birds and feel the unique breath of Ubud.

Explore Sacred Monkey Forest and Ubud Art Market
When the weather is cool, you can start exploring Ubud with the most famous destination – Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary. This is a sacred forest in the middle of town, home to hundreds of long-tailed monkeys in a mysterious space with ancient temples covered in green moss. Walking under the canopy of ancient trees, weaving through stone-paved paths, you will feel a very different Bali: wild, ancient and somewhat mysterious.

Then, just walk a few more minutes to Ubud Art Market, a place filled with colors and creative energy. It would be a pity to come to Bali without buying yourself any handmade straw bags. Straw bags are considered a very unique feature of Bali that any tourist coming here must buy one. With a variety of colors, designs and models, a suitable straw bag is the perfect small accessory for any of your outfits. In addition, it is also suitable as a lovely souvenir!

Enjoy Dinner and Traditional Balinese Dances
When night falls, spend your first evening enjoying the cuisine amidst nature at one of the restaurants with the best views in Ubud such as Sayan House, Bridges Bali or Indus Restaurant. The open space, soft candlelight and the sound of the babbling brook will make every dish more memorable.

If you still have energy, don’t miss the traditional dance performance at Ubud Palace, starting at 7:30 pm. Under the ancient yellow lights, the Legong, Kecak or Barong dances will tell you the fairy tale of the Balinese, full of charm and mystery. This will be the perfect end to the first day of your Bali journey.

Tirta Empul Temple – Purify Your Soul With Sacred Water

Leaving the center of Ubud, you will come to Tirta Empul, a sacred temple famous for its natural spring that the Balinese believe can wash away worldly dust and purify the soul. The purification bathing ritual here takes place under 12 limestone water spouts flowing from the ancient stone wall. Even if you do not perform the ritual, just stepping into the temple grounds, you will feel a peaceful energy radiating from the landscape and people.

If you have time, you can combine a visit to Gunung Kawi Sebatu, one of the most beautiful and tranquil temples in Bali, or Tegenungan Waterfall, where the water falls into the middle of the jungle, creating a majestic and refreshing scene.

Balinese Spa and Dinner at Locavore To Go
After a day of traveling and exploring among the green forests, sacred temples and terraced fields, there is nothing better than letting your body be pampered with a traditional Balinese spa treatment. You can choose from full body massage packages, relax with hot stones, herbal treatments or try flower bath therapy, soaking in a warm tub filled with fresh flowers in an open space facing nature.
Once you’re done relaxing, you can have a light dinner at Locavore To Go, the casual version of the famous Locavore restaurant. The menu here focuses on local ingredients, creatively prepared, with delicate but unpretentious flavors, making it a perfect way to end a day full of Balinese flavors.

Leave Ubud, Depart for Uluwatu

After breakfast in Ubud, you will start your journey of about 2 hours driving down to the South of Bali, towards the Uluwatu area famous for its majestic cliffs and vast blue sea. On the way, the scenery gradually changes from green terraced fields to long white sand beaches, the cool sea air makes your spirit more excited.
Enjoy Lunch by the Sea

You can walk along the trails around the temple, enjoy the cool sea breeze and admire the sea view from above with the white waves rolling below.

Immediately after that, enjoy the special Kecak dance performance taking place right at the outdoor stage area near the temple, when the brilliant sunset dyes the whole scene golden, creating a magical and emotional space. The sound of drums, the echoing singing combined with the fire and the movements of the actors bring the traditional Balinese story to life.

Enjoy Dinner by the Beach at Jimbaran
After the performance, you can move to the nearby Jimbaran Beach to enjoy a romantic dinner by the sea. The restaurants here are famous for their fresh grilled seafood, simply prepared to retain the natural flavor. Sitting by candlelight, enjoying shrimp, squid, grilled fish with coconut rice, herbs and a cool cocktail, you will fully feel the peace of Bali at night.
Day 4: Relax – Shopping – End of Trip
Start the last day with a light breakfast at the hotel or resort. You can enjoy relaxing moments on the nearby beach, step into the cool water, feel the fresh air and the sound of the waves. If you want your body to be completely refreshed, a gentle relaxing massage at the spa right in the resort will be a great choice to recharge your energy before the return journey.
Before going to the airport, you can visit famous shopping spots such as Krisna Oleh Oleh – a paradise of Balinese souvenirs with affordable prices and a variety of products from handicrafts, batik fabrics to local specialties. In addition, Discovery Mall in Kuta is also an ideal destination if you want to combine shopping and enjoying cuisine in a modern, convenient space.

When is the Best Time to Travel to Bali?

Bali has a tropical climate, so there are 2 distinct seasons: rainy season and dry season. The best time to travel to Bali is from May to October, when the weather in Bali is cool, with little rain and storms, suitable for outdoor activities and exploring nature. Klook suggests that you should avoid going to Bali in July, August, and September because these are peak months, Bali will be extremely crowded with tourists, leading to high and expensive travel costs.

In addition, the rainy season in Bali will start from November to April next year, limiting your travel experience. However, Bali is still very crowded during these months, because the rain will not be continuous, so there will still be visitors coming here to experience the “Paradise Island”.
