LOTTE World Magic Forest

Despite “late birth”, but LOTTE World Magic Forest in Busan has an area of 158,000m2, 1.5 times larger than Lotte World in Seoul, and is the largest theme park in Korea with up to 31 of adventure rides.

Themed like a fairy-tale kingdom, the park offers six theme zones with 31 rides and daily parades. The most awaited rides at Lotte World Busan include Giant Digger, a roller coaster with a top speed of 105 km/h, and Giant Splash, the country’s first water roller coaster with a drop speed of 44.6 m. at a speed of 100 km/h.

Additionally, the theme park features a giant ferris wheel call Giant Swing, whose shaft is 20% longer than a similar one in Lotte Seoul, creating a turning radius of 120 meters from 44.8 meters high.

Young Koreans are most excited with two thrilling rides: Giant Digger – a roller coaster running with a maximum speed of 105 km and Giant Swing.

In addition, the park has a number of family-friendly attractions, including an animal farm and fairy tale-themed games regardless of weather. The amusement park hosts a 30-minute parade twice a day.

Admission to Busan Lotte World is 47,000 won/adult, 39,000 won/teenager from 13 to 18 years old, 33,000 won/child aged 36 months to 12 years old, 12,000 won/child under 36 months old.

Suggested Busan 3 days itinerary: How to spend 3 days in Busan?

Visiting Busan is easy due to the fact that public transport systems with buses and subways are very developed throughout the city. With the suggested Busan 3 days itinerary (Busan 3 days 2 nights) below, I spent each day visiting an area which centralize many tourist attractions.

Busan 3 days itinerary — Day 1: Explore the southern area of Busan Central Station

In this area, the attractions are more centralize and quite close together, just in BIFF Square you will probably spend all day for wandering around here.

Lotte Department Store

This commercial center is super-wide, selling all kinds of goods both items of market and items of brand, sometimes there is water music performances for families with children to watch. Especially on the rooftop of this high-rise building is a large courtyard, up here you can see the whole of the beautiful port city of Busan.

Yongdusan Park & Busan Tower

Yongdusan Park is located on a low hill, walking from Lotte to the foot of the mountain quite close, and the road to the top of the mountain is not too high, unlike climbing Nam San Tower in Seoul. This is a park with many green trees and food kiosks, souvenirs shops. Climbing a little further is the Busan Tower, from the top of the tower you can see the whole of Busan city.

Gukje Market

Gukje market is a place for the sceneries of the famous movie “Ode to My Father” and since It has become a popular tourist spot in Busan. The place you must go in Gukje Market is the Kkotbunine shop, which is the store of the main actor in the movie. Come here you will discover labyrinth-like alleys, surrounded by many shops, stalls, selling items such as clothing, souvenirs.

Getting there: Take the bus to the Bosu-dong Chaekbanggolmok station, 350m walking to the market.

BIFF Square and the night market area

The square is famous for its beautiful stone‐paved roads, a little trick is you should not be rushed to the square, but let’s walking from the foot mountain of Busan Tower, you will admired beautiful shops on both sides of the road. Especially, BIFF Square is very crowed, bustling at noon and night, when there are many restaurants, stalls serving street food, all kinds of foods, very eye-catching and attractive.

Jagalchi fish market and lunch with seafood or sashimi

When wandering in BIFF Square you can have lunch with street food, but I chose the Jagalchi fish market for my lunch. Visiting Jagalchi, you will understand why it is one of the most busy and bustling fish market in South Korea. Fish market is very large, crowded but very clean and neat. There are two main areas that are outside area right on the street and stalls in inside area.

Walking around the market and admire the variety of seafood, ocean tuna large as human body, crab king wide as arms that you maybe seen only on TV. Fresh mussels, fish, shrimp, squid, octopus…live in the pots or in the containers.

The most prominent point is the second floor of the fish market, where the restaurants serves seafood for diners. If you go with a group, do not miss the opportunity to enjoy a great seafood at Jagalchi.

Gamcheon Culture Village

Another iconic tourist spot of Busan, the ancient village is called Santorini of Asia. This village is located along the mountainside, but not straight to the sea, but from the top can still see the sea far away.

Gamcheon Culture Village 3 — Gamcheon Culture Village

The houses of the village are decorated in different colors, but the main color is still light blue, and the roofs also is mostly in this color. You can visit the entire village by follow the small alleyways, stairs, and discovering a lot of super-cute shops. To explore the whole village may also take a whole day.

Getting there: From Jagalchi Fish Market, take 1 subway line 1 to Toseong Station, Exit 6, from here you can walk (quite far and have to climb) or take a bus. To get to the bus stop, go straight from Exit 6, turn right and go straight to the bus stop next to Pusan National University Hospital. Take the bus number 2 and drop off at Gamcheon Elementary School.

Taejongdae Park

If you have more time you can visit Taejongdae Park, or else you can skip it because this point is quite far away although it is quite beautiful. This is a mix of forest, cliffs and the vast ocean. Visiting Taejongdae, you can also take a scenic cruise on the Taejongdae Gonpo Cruise Boat, priced at 10,000 KRW per person.

Getting there: Walking about 75 meters to Jagalchi Market Bus Stop and catch Bus No. 30, then down at Taejongdae stop.

The first night (in Busan 3 days itinerary, 3 days in Busan) you can return to BIFF Square or Lotte Department Store for dinner. Do not forget to take the elevator to the top of the building to see Busan at night.

3 days in Busan — Day 2: The northern area of Busan’s central station

Oryukdo Skywalk

This is a glass bridge, which makes you to imagine about the cliffs in Zhangjiajie of China, but the skywalk is shorter. Stepping on this glass path you can see the cliffs, the sea waves clapping below.

Gwangalli beach

The beach is quite deserted, not too far away from Busan Central Station. You can walking around on the beach, chatting to the many people are fishing here. Gwangalli beach runs along a curved path that looks sexy.

The Bay 101 & Nurimaru APEC House

The Bay 101 area is a block of skyscrapers, with offices and 5-star hotels. Standing here looking at the city is no different than a miniature Singapore or Hong Kong. If you have more time, you should come back here in the evening when the buildings light up, enjoy drinks at the restaurant / bar in the bay and watch the city.

From the Bay 101 is a short distance away, walking along the way with many green trees, one side is the sea, you will go to the area of Nurimaru APEC House, where organize the APEC summit in Busan in November 2015. The convention hall is designed in traditional Korean style blend with many modern features. There are plenty of pictures of conferences, meeting rooms, and beautiful sea views.

Haeundae & SEA LIFE Busan Aquarium

Like Gwangalli Beach, Haeundae Beach is a long coastline, on one side is a highway with many high-rise buildings. In addition to walking around the beach, playing with the birds here, you can visit the SEA LIFE Busan Aquarium, a place suitable for those with children.

Shinsegae Centum City

This is a shopping mall located in the center of the city and quite far away from the beach. Anyone who knows about Korea probably heard of Shinsegae, one of the biggest shopping malls in Korea and the world. At here, there are enough famous brands for shopping lovers to choose from. It is also a good thing, that is a Free Duty Free zone. You only need to bring your Passport to purchase duty-free goods, do not need to go to the airport or ask for tax-free paperwork. Tips: 3CE lipstick here is very cheap, go to the promotion season even cheaper.

Busan 3 days itinerary — Beomeosa Temple và Haedong Yonggungsa Temple

You can spend a day to visiting Beomeosa Temple, which has a long history dating back 1300 years. It is located on the edge of Geumjeongsan Mountain, one of the most famous mountains in Korea. The best time to visit this temple is in May, when the forest of Tortoise trees around the temple bloom.

Haedong Yonggungsa Temple

This is one of the most popular and unique Buddhist temples in Korea, especially It is located on the coast, because the Korean temples are usually built in the mountains. Local people often come here on New Year’s Day and make wishes when the sun rises. If you visit the temple in the cherry blossoms season, the temple is much more beautiful.
