Lake Bratan is of great importance as the main water source of irrigation in the central area of Bali. The 11-story Meru Tower in the complex was built dedicated for God Shiva and his spouse Parvati. The statue of Buddha is also kept in this temple. This temple is also known as the Bali temple on the lake because it appears to float when the Bratan lake rising.

There is public transportation to take you to Lake Bratan from Denpasar or Lovina. There is also a shuttle bus that runs between the south beaches and Lovina. It takes 45 minutes to reach Pura Ulun Danu Temple from Lovina. From Ubud, it takes a 1.5 hour drive and it is about 2 hours from Kuta. You can also rent a scooter, take a taxi. I booked a day tour to combine to visit many places quickly.
When is the best time to visit Pura Ulun Danu Bratan Temple in Bali Indonesia?
Opening hours: Daily, from 9am to 8pm.
Entrance fee: 50,000 IDR ($3.42) for adult and 25,000 IDR ($1.71)/child. The tickets can be bought at the ticket counter in the parking lot which located right in front of the entrance gate of the temple.
If you are lucky enough to visit in the festival, you will be able to attend a real party. This is one of the many festivals held at the temple.
If not, you will still have a great time admiring the beauty of this Hindu temple unlike the others.
The temple is beautiful or not depends on the time when you come here. The main reason for the famous of the Ulun Danu Bratan Temple is that it floats on the lake. If you visit the temple at a time of low tide, it obviously won’t float.
