Kuala Lumpur itinerary 4 days (4 days in KL) — Day 1: Saigon – KUL (Petronas Twin Towers, KLCC Park)

Arrive in Kuala Lumpur after the 2-hour flight from Ho Chi Minh City. Side note: Kuala Lumpur is one hour ahead of Ho Chi Minh city timezone so remember to adjust your watch (for example, 2 pm in Ho Chi Minh City corresponds to 3 pm in Kuala Lumpur).

From the airport, there are several ways to get to central Kuala Lumpur:

Grab/Uber

Grab/Uber is very easy to use in Kuala Lumpur, just right after leaving the airport, open the application (after connected to wifi or 3G/4G, the airport offers free wifi – requires registering some information) and insert your destination. Use the texting feature on the app to inform the driver of your location so he or she can pick you up faster. (example: text “door 2 arrival terminal” to the driver). Be careful though, please check for the correct license plate before getting in the car.

MRT/LRT

Express railway from KLIA airport to KL Sentral: if you fly with Air Asia, your destination terminal will be KLIA2, from the station of low-cost airlines you will take the airport subway to KLIA. Express railway tickets are sold in KLIA. From KL Sentral you may want to take an Uber/Grab to the hotel, or the more economical transportations like bus or MRT/LRT subway to the hotel’s nearest stop/station.

Bus

Direct shuttle bus from the airport to KL Sentral: this option is cheaper than the railway but takes more time, obviously, because there are many stops along the road.

Private transfer service

After checking in hotels and dropping off luggage, your unforgettable journey in Kuala Lumpur has officially begun! The very first destination is the once tallest building in the world – Petronas Twin Towers.

During the daytime, the building majestically penetrates the bright blue sky, while at night, lights are turned on creating the two giant candles shinier than the stars.

Walk around the KLCC tower, you will see a route leads to KLCC Park. At this place every night, there is an astonishing performance of the musical water fountain with sound and light. 8 pm, 9 pm and 9:45 pm are when the performance starts, right in the middle of the pond.

What to do in Kuala Lumpur in 4 days? Day 2 – Entertainment in Kuala Lumpur: Kuala Lumpur City Tour

After finishing breakfast, let’s go outside and catch the Hop-on Hop-off bus – a gift for tourists in tourism-focused cities. This is the double-decker bus, the top floor is open for people that love the urban atmosphere.

The bus goes around the city for a whole day with 23 stops, passengers are allowed to hop off at any stop desired, you just have to keep the ticket. These are some interesting stops you should consider:

Stop 4: Aquaria – amazing place in Kuala Lumpur – is a stunning aquarium in KLCC, next to Petronas Twin Towers. Does a white seal in a round ball of glass sound intriguing to you? Stop 6: Bukit Bintang, the second most appealing place to visit in Kuala Lumpur (just after Petronas Twin Towers). Kuala Lumpur 4 days 3 nights itinerary — Day 3: Burn all energy at Sunway Lagoon Theme Park, Kuala Lumpur

No one has to think of “what to do next” today, because we are going to spend a whole day at Sunway Lagoon Theme Park! Sunway Lagoon is a multi-park located in the suburb of Kuala Lumpur, takes around 15 minutes on a taxi, you make pick either an Uber or Grab, or catch a direct bus at KL Sentral bus station.

Sunway Lagoon Theme Park includes 6 distinctive themed parks for visitors to choose from. There is the Water park with fantastic water slides; Wildlife park, which is Sunway Lagoon’s botanical park since many rare species can be found here; Amusement park that satisfies any type of thrill-seekers with various levels of rides – from mild for rookies to extreme for daredevils; let your mind be haunted with the horrifying Scream park; live your life to the fullest with water tube slides in Nickelodeon Lost park, Extreme park – just like the name – offer risky rides for all adventurers with dauntless hearts, some of them requires separated tickets like Bungee Jump, G-Force X or Go Kart.

After having engaged in multiple ups and downs, nerve-challenging moments with the rides, end this energetic day in soothingly warm pool water, or let yourself be floated away by the lazy river.

Kuala Lumpur 4 days 3 nights itinerary — Day 4: Shopping at Central Market, Chow Kit Market, Kuala Lumpur

A journey can never be fully contented without some shopping time, Central Market and Chow Kit Market or any common shopping malls are the places to be. Malaysian specialties are all about the durian taste, such as durian chocolate, dried durian, you can even buy fresh durian fruits because thanks to vacuumed packaging, putting them in your carry-on luggage causes no smell at all.

Make sure you are at the airport around 3 hours earlier than the flight time (55 kilometres from central Kuala Lumpur to the airport, which takes about an hour by car). The party is over, I really hope you have had a fantastic time in one of the cheapest and refreshing cities in Southeast Asia.
