Glamping in Busan: The moving camping Busan (The moving caravan Busan)
After a lot of researches and investigations, we decided to choose The Moving Camping as the place to set our camp. This campsite is located on an area with one side facing the sea and the other is a campground complex for campfire and tents where you will enjoy your coffee and BBQ. At night when the lights are on, the campfire is set up and the tents are shimmering like those in the photos, people are excited to throw a BBQ party with some beer and interesting conversations.
Glamping in busan: How to get to the moving camping Busan (the moving caravan Busan)
From Seoul, the fastest way is to travel by the KTX train to Busan, which only takes you about 2 hours and a half. The average ticket price is about W56,000/person. However, buying a 2 day-flexible Korail Pass for groups of 2 (or more) is much cheaper, you can purchase the tickets at KKday or Klook for only W87,000/pass for unlimited KTX travel and some other route options within 2 days. Find more about the Korail Pass here.
The Moving is quite far from the center of Busan (about 2 hours by bus). If you can rent a self-drive car in Busan, then just turn on Google Map, choose a location and follow Google instructions. And if you are not planning to rent any vehicles like us, it is best to take the bus for convenience and saving time.
The bus to The Moving only has one route. So, you just need to go to Google – your best friend in this journey – find the bus stations that have the bus number 180 passing through, get on the bus, take the route to Gijang Culture & Etiquette School station and get off.
Get off at this station
When you get off the bus, just go backward from the station for about 200m to arrive here. The Moving is located on the same side with Etiquette School so it’s really easy to see.
The moving caravan Busan: Prices
The Moving Camp is designed to imitate the hippies’ cars. It is super cute and adorable. There are various types of cars, and depending on the location, the size and price will be different. Note that the room type and price will vary seasonally, but the average price of a camp will be around $130/night (this is the price for the weekdays). You can consult the price at the website of The Moving: http://themoving.kr/default/. Prices seem a bit bitter, but believe in yourself once and you will keep the good memories here forever.
Let’s see our room. All of them are photos we took during our trip, not “borrowed” from Pinterest or Google, so that you know a wonderland really exists.
The moving camping Busan: Things to prepare
If you are a camper, you already know these things all too well. However, for those of you who have never gone camping or are worried that going camping here will be different from where you usually go for example, you can refer to this list to be prepared. In general, The Moving has already offered quite useful equipment, so we only suggest a few other necessary things.
1. Food! Food! Food!
You can forget other stuff but definitely not food. Because the campsite will only provide accommodation and cooking utensils here. After checking-in at The Moving Camping, you will receive a basket with bowls, spoons, forks and a gas stove, and next to your camp, you will see a charcoal stove for BBQ. They also have snacks and drinks of several kinds for sale but very limited in terms of selection and of course they are a lot more expensive than buying them at a supermarket.
And actually, the most interesting thing about going on a camping trip is to bring and cook your own food. So, if you guys don’t experience everything to the fullest, going camping will be less than a perfect journey for you. Items you can bring such as meat (remember to marinate it earlier because at The Moving, there is only a place for you to wash and process your food), seafood, vegetables and fruits, etc.
2. Towels
Based on our traumatic experience from the last time, we suggest that you bring your own towels, because for each camp, one person will only be given a tiny face towel, so if you want to take a shower comfortably, remember to bring towels. Otherwise, you may cry in the bathroom and no one will be able to save you.
3. Sandals/umbrella
Remember to prepare another pair of sandals to walk around or take shower, so you do not need to tiptoe to wear your shoes. Unlike the hotel that will have slippers for you, there will be nothing close to that luxury at the camp. Not to mention if your camp is a bit far away from the bathroom or coffee shop and it happens to be raining (around September, October and November there is quite a lot of rain), you will definitely be thankful very much for bringing an umbrella along.
4. WIFI! WIFI!
A special thing at The Moving is that although it looks very modern, has a super nice and popular cafe on the side and a fancy restaurant right next door, you can’t find WIFI anywhere! The reason is they want us to spend time at The Moving to live in harmony with the nature, have time to talk to each other and not just face the smartphone all day.
For us, this is a really good idea, but “closing ourselves” to the outside world, especially to keep in contact with family and relatives at home is very difficult. And, believe me, going to The Moving without checking-in with photos capturing fantastic moments without sharing with your friends on Facebook who are waiting for your travel updates is something that will never happen (otherwise, we will no longer write blogs anymore). You can take your Wifi transmitter (pocket Wifi) from home along with you or rent it from travel agencies like Klook, KKday or Trazy.
The check-in time is 3 pm so you should pay attention to the time the bus departs to match the check-in time. However, if there is no early check-in, we have collected some nice places for you to wander around before you settle down at the campsite.
Glamping in Busan: What to eat and play nearby The moving camping Busan (the moving caravan Busan)?
Although The Moving is quite far from the center, located right next to the edge of the coast, but that does not mean the place is full of boring emptiness.
1. Wave On Coffee
The beautiful coffee shop hanging on the cliff next to the beach is more than a perfect place for afternoons with sunshine and cool breeze. This cafe is only 3 steps away from The Moving (literally), is an open area with lots of spaces designed specifically facing the sea, so no matter where you sit, you’ll fully enjoy the beauty of this place.
2. Roastery Restaurant
If you are lazy to bring food or cannot cook due to the weather, don’t worry that you will become Robinson on an isolated island. Next to Wave On Cafe is Roastery Restaurant, which only serves 4 main dishes made from beef, duck, pork and octopus, but each dish is super delicious and affordable.
That afternoon, we ordered a full set of meat for only W40,000. Not to mention the food was delicious and affordable, and the view was beautiful just like sitting in a 5-star restaurant in the Maldives. Just imagine eating and listening to the waves while looking at the fine white sand, this is definitely the best moment of your life.
And after the stomach was full, let’s take some pictures to finish the camping trip.
That’s the end of our journey.
