Che Cheng

Che Cheng is the spot where we are extremely impressed. Che Cheng Train Station is located at the JiJi Line’s last train station, built by Japan when it occupied Taiwan and used to transport sugar cane to factories in the area at that time.

Aowanda National Forest Recreation Area

If you plan to stay in Taiwan for a long time, do not miss the Aowanda National Forest. Located in the Renai town of Nantou, Aowanda is famous for its local people as a must visit place if you want to enjoy the red color of the maple leaves in the short months of autumn.

Walking in Aowanda, you will find small streams. Strolling along the red-tinted paths of the close together maple trees, then eagerly cross the trekking trail about a mile through the forest, and you’ll soon arrive at the area of three beautiful waterfalls. The cold vapor will rise from the waterfalls with the fresh air will make you feel no regret at all when to choose to Aowanda.

Alishan

Located in Nantou, famed for its majestic mountains, fresh air, romantic scenery, Alishan is an indispensable place to visit in all four seasons of the year, not just in the autumn. However, walking under the canopy of red leaves, yellow leaves in cold weather, airy air, poetic landscape will be even better. If you come to Alishan around January, you will also admire cherry blossom and maple leaf combined together make the poetic scenery.

A bit of remind, visiting Alishan without enjoying its famous tea, you should not leave here!!! However, teahouses and tea farms are hard to find and the path is crooked, so it is best to hire a car of a travel agency like KKday for ensure and safe.

If you want to go alone: Take HSR from Chiayi HSR station, then take the bus # 7329 to Alishan (only 3 trip/ day at 10:10, 11:40 and 13:10).

Or you can go by regular train, cheap price, but waste a lot of time. If HSR takes 1 hour then train takes 2 hours and 30 minutes to get to Alishan.

Wuling Farm

Taichung also has a little “private” place to see maple leaves: It’s Wuling Farm. In fact, Wuling Farm is better known for its peach blossom than for maple leaves, but not everyone knows when the maple leaves turns colors, the scenery of Wuling Farm is so beautiful that make your heart races. If you want to find a quiet place to enjoy all the colors of Autumn alone, do not miss the location to see unique maple leaves.

How to go: By bus: From Taichung, take the Lishan bus to Fongyuan, then change the bus to Wuling and get off at Wuling station. The bus schedule is quite less, there are only a few trips in a day, so you should check the schedule before you go. Fongyuan Bus Co., Tel: (04) 2523-4175.

Mount Manapan

The next place to see maple leaves is Mount Manapan, where many visitors appreciate the majestic beauty, wonderful by the autumn colors are extremely interesting that mother nature has brought. This is also a place that many Taiwanese people suggest if you ask them where to see maple leaves in Taiwan.

Mount Manapan is home to a diverse range of ecosystems that coexist, creating a special space for travelers to stroll and enjoy the scenery.
