Sisters Ponds – the ponds located in the middle of Alishan forest is a famous spot for charming scenery. Ponds are called Sisters Ponds (Another name: Younger Sister Pond and Elder Sister Pond) because there are two ponds lying next to each other, surrounded by green mountains and forests. A large pond, a slightly smaller pond should be named affectionately as Two Sister Pond.

The pond is also associated with an ancient legend. Ancient legend tells that two sisters voluntarily sown themselves in the pond. They bravely protected the villagers from being occupied by invaders. Later the pond was named to commemorate these two brave sisters.
From Zhaoping station just walk a little further to reach Sisters Ponds. The space here is very open. The pond does not have too many tourists visiting so it is not noisy and bustling. Walking around the ponds between charming scenery feels like being in the context of Chinese historical drama. In the middle of the lake, there is a moon pavilion, which is very beautiful. You should visit and take some photos to check-in!

Take the scenic train through Alishan Forest Railway
Sitting in a red train passing through the forest by the Alishan Forest Railway. This train was originally a timber tanker operated since the Japanese were exploited wood in Alishan. Today the trains are not used for freight but become trains for tourists.
The red train is very beautiful and artistic. Extremely photogenic. You can buy train tickets from the first station just outside the entrance gate of Alishan National Forest. One-way ticket is about 100 TWD ($3.25). The train station is also very beautiful, free to pose to take photos to check-in.
