If the sunset brings a peaceful feeling when come to an end of the day, the dawn in Bagan awakens the mood of excitement while watching the rising sun and watching the hot air balloons flying in the skies of Bagan.

Although Shwesandaw Pagoda is also one of the most beautiful spots to watch the sunrise, but I want to go to other temples so I should choose Bulethi follow the advice of the owner of the hotel.
Different from the crowded with tourists at Shwesandaw, it is much more comfortable here, except the stairs at Bulethi are tiny, not careful is to fall immediately.
Waiting for the sun to rise high, I just left and moved to Ananda Temple – the most beautiful temple in Bagan.
With stunning architecture, made of stone with a stupa (bell-shaped tower) in the middle, the top of stupa is gilded. The temple has four sides overlooking the four directions, each with an altar with a Buddha statue nearly 10 meters high inlaid with sparkling gold.
There are also smaller Buddha statues, which people often buy a piece of gold paper (priced at 1.000 kyat/piece) to paste on with the wish for good luck.
The different paste positions on the Buddha statue represents the different wishes of the person who stickers: Buddha’s forehead => wishing for a good memory, face => praying for beauty, at the heart => praying for good luck, at the foot = > go to many places, at heels => go faster.
Thanks to buying 1 piece of the seller, I was able to hear the whole story of the temple like that, so lucky.
Next is Thatbyinnyu Temple – the tallest of the temples here. The pagoda has a two-story architecture, ancient, different from the remaining temples in Bagan. Opposite the entrance, there are a few sweets stalls, don’t forget to try.
Changing the atmosphere with full of pagodas and temples from yesterday to until now, I visited a workshop producing lacquer and craftwork accidentally found in the advertisement of the hostel called Bagan House.
Here, people observe the process of making lacquerware and craft items of Bagan.
Finally, admire the most massive temple in Bagan is Dhammayangyi Temple – a temple that can make you goosebumps when passing by at night. Because there is a huge old tree right in front of the temple, on which hangs all the traditional wooden dolls.
Seeing them dangling on the head in the daytime alone startled me, let alone going into the night would faint not joking.
In the distance, there is a temple that has been largely ruined, but climb up here and see Dhammayangyi Temple at the high, very wonderful.
In addition, you cannot be certified is having came Bagan if you not riding the horse cart yet. The feeling of swaying on each road and being told stories from jockeys really deserve a try.
The link to book the horse cart experience here: Guided Tour of Bagan by Horse-Drawn Cart with Sunset Viewing Experience.
After two days of sightseeing in Bagan, I moved from Bagan to the vast water city of Inle.
JJ Express Bus also exploits this route so you can book as the above way or ask your hotel to book for you, there will be shuttle bus to pick you up from the hotel. Ticket prices range from $12–15/way. Or you can book here: VIP Bus Ticket (One Way) between Bagan and Inle Lake.
Myanmar solo travel itinerary — Day 4: Drop the soul on Inle Lake and see locals fishing with one leg
Similarly in Bagan, you will also be charged $8/person (admission fee) when arriving at the gateway to Inle Town.
Unlike Bagan, the weather in Inle is quite cool, not too dry. Probably because of that, all the attractions here are more related to the plants and trees.
If you love to explore, trekking through the forest; Welcome to the exciting Inle Lake trekking tour for only ~ $36/person. Reserve for your trekking schedule here: Inle Lake Day Tour.
For those who weak, fragile like me choose a lighter schedule than take a boat around Inle Lake with many poetic activities:
Watch the locals fishing with one leg on Inle Lake
Visiting Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda: The largest pagoda here, there are 5 Buddha statues that are glued with gold so much that you can no longer see their faces. The backyard of the temple has a lot of pigeons, can buy grain for them for 200k yat/pack.
Visit tomato garden on the water
Visit manufacturers of tobacco, lotus silk, bamboo crafts, silver products, and long neck people.
Watch the sunrise/sunset on Inle Lake
Book a tour to visit Inle Lake on the boat here, note that you should book 3-5 days in advance before arrival date to get a seat at Inle Lake Day Tour.
6 day itinerary Myanmar — Day 5: Surprise with Kakku Pagodas complex owns more than 1.000 ancient stupas
It must be said that this is the most special highlight in my Myanmar trip during the 6 days. Really excited to discover such a “genuine” place.
Stupa is structured like a wind chime, whenever the wind blows back and forth, it is tinkling with pleasure. Imagine more than 1.000 vibrations, big enough to know their sound how spectacular is.
This area is located quite far from Inle center, about 40km, you should book in advance for the itinerary to visit Kakku temple area to be more convenient transportation. Link to book here: Kakku Day Tour.
In addition, I also went to Shwe Yan Pyay Pagoda with pretty oval-shaped doorways.
6 day itinerary Myanmar — Day 6: Return to Yangon, visit some places and fly back to Vietnam
My total cost is only ~ $330/6 days, more than enough for a huge trip, going everywhere in Yangon, Bagan, Inle with many incredible stories.
Hopefully, with my Myanmar solo travel itinerary for 6 days (6 day itinerary Myanmar), you will be confident to make a real trip to Burma in the near future!
