Being likened as a miniature region of the southwest of Vietnam, An Giang enchants visitors with its peaceful landscapes, the diversity of food and friendly, hospitable residents.
1. The freshwater lake of Bung Binh Thien (Binh Thien Lake)
Just 30 kilometers away from Chau Doc city, Bung Binh Thien (or God lake) is located in An Phu town, An Giang province, near Cambodia -Vietnam border.
This lake is especially attractive in floating seasons when the green color of waterhyacinth dominates the area. Visitors can drop in Cham village surrounding the lake to see its old cultural identities.
2. Tra Su Cajuput forest
The forest spreads over 850 ha in Tinh Bien district. It is the diverse ecosystem that symbolizes An Giang beauty in floating seasons.
Dinghy rides are always ready to take tourists into Tra Su cajuput forest. Endless green carpets of water hyacinth and enjoyable singing of birds are expected to be lasting experiences in the heart of the tourists.
3. The paddy fields in Ta Pa mountain
During floating seasons, borderless rice fields in Ta Pa, Tri Ton district appears as a giant carpet decorated with green paddy fields and Borassus flabellifer rocketing into the blue sky.
4. That Son mountains range (or Seven mountains)
That Son area includes seven typical mountains among 37 ones in Tri Ton district and Tinh Bien district. Cam Mountain – the highest one of That Son area, is 705 meters high, 28.600 meters in perimeter and has magnificent views.
5. Oc Eo relic (Oc Eo-Ba The relic site)
Oc Eo is ranked among the top largest and well-known historical sites in An Giang.
Visitors of Oc Eo relic is not only collectors, archeologists but also domestic and foreign tourists paying a visit to see relics and remains of prosperity in An Giang and Mekong delta in the old days.
6. Lady Xu Temple (Nui Sam Temple)
The temple, right at the foot of Sam Mountain, Chau Doc town is an ideal destination not just for pilgrimages but also for enjoying the fresh atmosphere in Sam Mountain at the height of nearly 300 meters.
From the site, visitors can have a spectacular view of the town as well as Vinh Te canal.
7. Chau Doc market
As a kingdom of salted fish and seafood, Chau Doc market is where an array of fish soup, dried fish, and seafood, salted food and so forth are sold.

8. Chau Doc floating village
It is this floating village that is considered as a unique tourist attraction as well as a special cultural identity of the village. Boats and dinghies are the major means of transportation here.
Each raft is used as a house which links to others to form long rows along the river. All of each household’s belongings are put in a small, narrow raft which is 4 meters wide and 7-8 meters long.
Recently, some residents tend to moor their rafts and start their new life in the land.
9. Cham village in Chau Giang
There are a large number of Cham people dwelling in An Giang, mainly in An Phu district among Kinh people.
Just take a ferry ride from Chau Giang to Con Tien, tourists would get to this quiet and peaceful village. As the majority of Cham people here follow Islam, there are many mosques with round towers beside stilt houses.
10. Tinh Bien border gate market
Across a distance of more than one kilometer from Cambodia -Vietnam border, you would come across Tinh Bien market right in the center of Tinh Bien town.
Cheap, delicious and special dishes made from insects as well as fruits have captured the attention of numerous visitors. What is more, Thai and Cambodian commodities are also available at reasonable prices.
