Taipei itinerary 4 days blog — Day 1: Get familiar with Taipei
Morning: Breakfast in Taiwanese style at the shop of Yonghe Doujiang chain.
Address: No. 33, Section 2, Hankou St, Wanhua District.
This is a traditional Taiwanese breakfast type shop chain, quite crowded. If you is near the Main Train Station, walking is not too far, or you can go to another shop of this chain in Yonghe (Address: No.284 Section2 Yonghe Road).
This shop is always crowded and usually has to queue for a long time, you can get the number first but also do not sit at the table right away but have to wait for everyone to finish eating, the staff arranged the table to be seated. Some signature delicious dishes here such as Dim Sum, sandwich dumplings, fried noodles. The dumplings here have many colors, looks pretty. The meal we call includes a hot Dim Sum portion, fried noodles, sandwich dumplings, drinks including Milo and hot soy milk.
Huashan 1914 Creative Park
This is a recreation area for young people like the Common Ground in Seoul with a lot of shops selling souvenirs and extremely beautiful handmade items. One thing I really like here is beautiful corners for taking photos and selfies, quiet resting rows of chairs and walls that covered by the leaves, look so vintage.
This Huashan 1914 area also has fairs, exhibitions, cinemas and art classes. In addition, sometimes there are outdoor music performances. You can have lunch right at the eateries or super cool cafes.

Afternoon: Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall
This is an extremely large architectural complex with an inner precinct of a wide yard and surrounding buildings. Opposite the Memorial Hall is the entrance gates or Freedom Square Memorial Arch, on either side is the National Theater National Theater and the National Concert Hall. The Memorial Hall is built of white marble with a blue tile roof on a red background representing the national flag and the value of freedom, located at the end of the campus with a pedestrian campus, welcome gate. To reach here you will step through 89 steps leading up to the museum, each staircase represents one year in the life of Chiang Kai-shek.
Although most people come here to admire the grandeur of the complex, the majestic of Chiang Kai-shek monument, but for me, I like the garden, the lotus pond and the bridge at a small corner of precinct. Enter here like stepping into a Chinese ink wash painting with a very vintage landscape that brings a strange, peaceful feeling.
Address: No. 21號, Zhongshan South Road, Zhongzheng District, Taipei City, Taiwan 100

Taipei 101
Late in the afternoon, you can visit the Taipei 101 tower, which can be admired it from the foot of the tower or climb to the Elephant Mountain to see the whole city and Taipei 101 from above. From Xiangshan MRT Station, leave the station at Exit 2 and continue walking towards the park. At the end of the road turn left and follow the directions about 20 minutes to the Xiangshan Hiking Trail (象山 登山 步道). If you come here on the festivals of Taiwan and New Year, you will be admired the unique fireworks displays in truly Taiwanese style.
If you don’t want to climb the mountain to see Taipei 101, you have another option to buy tickets to the Taipei 101 observatory to admire the whole city from above. Like the skyscrapers in other famous cities, Taipei 101 also has its own observation deck on the 89th floor, queuing to buy tickets is not too crowded, the ticket price is about NT$600 ($19.47). You go to the ground floor of the tower, there are always two beautiful girls welcome you and providing all the necessary information. If you want to saving more, you can sit on the 35th floor where there is Starbucks to see the city. This shop is quite small so you may have to reserve a table in advance, let’s come to the 1st floor lobby where there will be Starbucks waiters and they will guide you.

Visiting Taipei 101, you cannot help but enjoy Dim Sum at the famous Din Tai Fung restaurant, located at the foot of Taipei 101. You should note that it is recommended to go to early because queue here quite a long time, let’s get number and go out 30 minutes and back is OK. Dim Sum here is not need to advertise because this restaurant has achieved 1 prestigious Michelin star. The price of meal for 2 people about NT$500 ($16.22) / person, of course, this price is still much cheaper than Din Tai Fung in Singapore.
