Ba Na Hills | Ba Na Hills 1 day itinerary

Located at an altitude of nearly 1,500 meters above sea level, Ba Na Hills is often called the “heavenly paradise” of Da Nang, and you truly understand why when you get there. The air here is cool almost year-round, and the scenery is breathtaking. We saw the Golden Bridge, the French Village, the Debay Wine Cellar, and Linh Ung Pagoda, each offering a different experience.

Besides the beautiful scenery, there’s also Fantasy Park and many performances, so you can spend from morning to evening without getting bored – a whole day might not even be enough. If you also only have one day at Ba Na Hills like we did, the following itinerary is how we made the most of our time, almost without missing the most worthwhile sights.

07:30: Departure from Da Nang City Center to Ba Na Hills

| Ba Na Hills 1 day itinerary

To avoid the crowds at the cable car station and have enough time to fully enjoy the day, we decided to depart from Da Nang city center around 7:30 AM. Leaving a little early meant we arrived quite comfortably, without having to queue for too long. Ba Na Hills is about 30km from the city center, and the journey took us about 45-60 minutes depending on the route. There are two main routes to choose from, so we considered them carefully before going.

We chose the Ba Na – Suoi Mo route because it’s the easiest. It runs through major roads like Duy Tan and Nguyen Van Linh, then connects to Dien Bien Phu, then joins National Highway 1A and turns onto Hoang Van Thai to reach our destination. The roads are wide and the signs are clear, making the journey quite easy.

Motorcycle Rental in Da Nang

There’s also another route, DT602. If you prefer a scenic drive with less traffic, this route is quite good, as it passes through the High-Tech Park, offering beautiful natural scenery. However, the road is a bit more winding, so we still prefer the other route for ease.

Regarding transportation, we found there are many options depending on individual style. For the most convenient option, book a Grab or taxi, costing around 350,000 – 400,000 VND per trip, and you’ll arrive at your destination in one go. If you prefer more independence, we found renting a self-drive car to be a reasonable choice. A car costs around 750,000 VND/day, while a motorbike is around 210,000 VND/day, making road trips quite enjoyable.

| Ba Na Hills 1 day itinerary

Alternatively, if you want to save money, you can still take the bus. We saw routes like 3, 9, 13, and 14 running to this area, with prices ranging from 8,000 to 30,000 VND per trip, but it takes a little longer.

09:00 – Experience “Through the Clouds” on the Record-Breaking Cable Car Route

Our journey at Ba Na Hills began with a cable car ride, and I must say, it was worth the money as soon as we got in the cabin. The feeling of sitting in the cable car suspended in mid-air, looking down at the lush green Chua Mountain range, with clouds drifting at eye level, was both relaxing and slightly “wow-worthy.” It’s no surprise that the cable car system here has set many Guinness World Records.

From the foot of the mountain, we bought tickets and went to stations like Hoi An, Suoi Mo, or Toc Tien, then lined up according to the instructions to board the cabin. Everything was quite clear, so we weren’t confused much.

| Ba Na Hills 1 day itinerary

Currently, there are quite a few different cable car routes, each taking us to a different area. At first, we were a little confused because there were so many names, but simply put, choosing which route would determine where we explored first.

Each cabin carries about 6-10 people, and the ride takes about 15 minutes, but it felt like time flew by because we were busy admiring the scenery. If you go during peak season, we recommend booking tickets in advance to avoid long queues. We booked in advance, so we got in quite quickly and even managed to get a better deal. 9:30 AM – Check-in at the Legendary Golden Bridge (#Ba Na Hills 1 day itinerary)

From the foot of the mountain, we decided to go to the Golden Bridge first to avoid the crowds. We chose the Hoi An – Marseille cable car route because it’s the most popular way to get directly to this area. The cable car ride takes about 15 minutes, then a 5-minute walk to get there, which is quite fast, so we prioritized going early to “deal with” the hottest spot right away.

And going early was definitely worth it. Around noon, it started to get noticeably crowded, but when we arrived before 10 AM, it was still quite comfortable, making taking photos much easier. The Golden Bridge looks much more impressive in real life than in the photos. The bridge is suspended in mid-air, at an altitude of nearly 1,400m, supported by two giant moss-covered hands, looking both unique and ancient.

At first glance, it seems to be made of stone, but in reality, these two hands are made of reinforced concrete combined with fiberglass, then surface-treated to create the effect of having existed for a very long time. Looking closely, you can see the deliberate design. Standing on the bridge, we can see the entire surrounding mountain forest. If there’s light fog, the view is even more beautiful, a bit hazy and very relaxing.

10:00 AM – Meditation at Linh Ung Pagoda on the Mountaintop

Leaving the Golden Bridge, we continued our visit to Linh Ung Pagoda, located halfway up the mountain, making it quite convenient to get to. As soon as we entered, we noticed a completely different atmosphere, much quieter and more peaceful than the check-in area outside. The pagoda is built in the Northern Buddhist style, notable for its stone triple-arched gate and curved tiled roof, carved with the image of “Two Dragons Worshipping the Moon,” which is quite impressive.

Going further inside, we saw the most striking feature: a statue of Buddha Shakyamuni, about 27 meters tall, seated on a lotus pedestal. Surrounding the temple are reliefs depicting the journey to enlightenment, quite detailed, so slowing down a bit makes it more interesting. Inside the main hall, the atmosphere is very solemn. There is a symbol of the Dharma Wheel and a statue of Buddha meditating under a Bodhi tree, creating a very tranquil feeling.

Ba Na Hills & Golden Bridge Day Tour with Late Departure Option

After walking around, we also took some time to stand still, not necessarily to pray for anything specific, just to rest and enjoy the peaceful feeling. In the midst of a day of visiting many places like in Ba Na Hills, this moment felt more pleasant than I expected.

10:30 AM – Immersing Ourselves in a European Atmosphere at the French Village

Mercure Danang French Village and Unlimited Admission Ba Na Hills

Leaving the temple area, we returned near the Golden Bridge to continue our journey from Bordeaux station to the French Village. From there, we took the cable car up to the Louvre station. As soon as we stepped off, it felt like the space had changed completely, like going from the mountains and forests to a “miniature Europe” in Da Nang.

The air here is noticeably cooler, and the French-style architecture with its domes, squares, bell towers, etc., makes everything look very “Western.” Some corners give you a real Parisian vibe, a gentle, romantic feel. The French Village is quite elaborately constructed, inspired by journeys through various regions of France. I heard the entire area covers over 45,000 square meters, replicating many famous landmarks, so every corner offers a different atmosphere.

Alpine Coaster Experience at Sun World Ba Na Hills

We spent quite a bit of time around the central square. There’s a clock tower, a classic European-style garden, and just strolling around provides plenty of beautiful photo opportunities. The gently curving cobblestone streets, combined with the ancient background, make every photo turn out amazing. Besides taking pictures, there are also occasional street performances. We arrived just in time for a show, so we watched for a while, which was quite enjoyable and made the atmosphere much more lively.

11:30 AM – Rest and Enjoy the Buffet at Beer Plaza

| Ba Na Hills 1 day itinerary

If your legs are tired after dozens of “Instagrammable” photos, this is the ideal time to recharge. Located right in the French Village square, Beer Plaza boasts a two-story space of over 4,000 square meters with a capacity of up to 3,000 guests. The restaurant’s design is inspired by the famous Oktoberfest beer festival, both elegant and vibrant.

The buffet menu at Beer Plaza is very diverse, serving over 90 dishes from Asian to European cuisine. Guests have many choices such as beef pho, broken rice, typical grilled dishes from Central Vietnam, along with pizza, steak, and pasta with authentic European flavors. A fresh seafood counter, refreshing salads, and tempting desserts are also always available for you to experience. In addition, don’t forget to enjoy the craft beer Sun Kraftbeer, brewed right on-site, when you visit Beer Plaza.

The interior space is always bustling with live music and dazzling lights, creating the feeling of being immersed in a real festival. The soaring vaulted ceilings, majestic Gothic columns, and long European-style tables further accentuate the characteristic party atmosphere of Beer Plaza. To fully enjoy the space without too much crowding, please arrive at the restaurant before 11:30 AM.

1:00 PM – Unleash Your Fun at Fantasy Park Indoor Amusement Park

Ao Dai Show Ticket in Da Nang

After eating and resting a bit, we headed to Fantasy Park to change the vibe to “play to the fullest.” This is a fairly large indoor amusement park, located right inside the mountain, so stepping inside feels completely different from the outside. Designed in a European fairytale style, a walk around reveals many games to explore, divided into 3 floors, so it’s a little bit “lost” in the process.

If you’re with family or want to start with something less intense, we recommend beginning on the second floor. This area has several interactive rides that aren’t too strenuous, such as the Ferris wheel, a wonderland-themed exploration zone, and 4D and 5D cinemas. There’s also a dedicated Kid World area for young children, making it quite suitable for larger groups.

Of course, we couldn’t miss the thrill rides on the first and third floors. There’s a freefall tower, bumper cars, and an indoor climbing wall – you’ll be wide awake after playing them all! These rides are quite fun, but remember to conserve your energy if you’re going at the end of the day.

Additionally, Fantasy Park also features an arcade, a 3D 360-degree cinema, and even a dinosaur park. Walking around takes quite a bit of time, but it’s definitely a place you can play endlessly without getting bored.

3:00 PM – Visiting the Unique Wax Museum

| Ba Na Hills 1 day itinerary

Da Nang – Hue Train Ticket

After playing at Fantasy Park, we stopped by the Wax Museum on the second floor for a change of scenery. This is the first wax museum in Vietnam, and it features many famous figures, so you’ll feel a sense of familiarity as soon as you step inside. From film and music to sports and politics, each section has a different vibe.

We heard that the figures here are handcrafted by Italian artisans, in a 1:1 scale, so they look quite realistic. Sometimes, standing close, you might even be slightly startled because they look so much like real people. We recognized many familiar faces like Bruce Lee, Mr. Bean, Messi, Michael Jackson, Obama, and Einstein. Walking around is quite fun, like looking at the exhibits and thinking, “Oh, look at this person!”

The exhibition spaces are specially designed, creating a suitable setting for each character, making the photos more lively. Entrance fee is 100,000 VND/adult, free for children under 130 cm. The museum is open until 5 PM every day, so you should try to arrive early to avoid missing out.

4:00 PM – Return by Cable Car, Ending a Day Trip to Ba Na Hills

After exploring Fantasy Park and the attractions on the mountaintop, we moved to the nearby L’Indochine station to descend the mountain by cable car. On the way back, the cable car stops at the Debay transfer point halfway up the mountain, where you can spend a few minutes watching the sunset and enjoying the fresh air before leaving Ba Na.

Besides that, the area near the stations has many souvenir stalls with typical products of the Chua Mountain region, handicrafts, and many Da Nang specialties for you to buy as gifts. Afterwards, you continue your journey back to Suoi Mo station, and your one-day trip to Ba Na Hills concludes perfectly with many memorable experiences at the “paradise” of Ba Na.
