Erawan Waterfall (in Thai: น้ำตก เอราวัณ), also known as seven-storey waterfall, is a famous waterfall in Kanchanaburi province.
With vast valley surrounded by mountains and pristine rainforests, Kanchanaburi Province has cool climate all year round, is well suited for resort activities and camping.
Considered as the most beautiful waterfall in Central Thailand. Erawan Waterfall originates from the spring of Monglai, water pours down from the hills at an altitude of 2,000 m and flows into the river of Khwae Yai. The waterfall is named after the three head white elephant of Hindu mythology.
This waterfall is located in the green forest of the Erawan National Park. To reach the Waterfall, you must go through a tortuous path but very attractive scenery. Especially, there is a large limestone cave called Wang Badan located in the west of the park, there are lots of colorful stalagmites and stalactites inside.
How to get to Erawan Waterfall?
Distance from Bangkok to Erawan Falls is about 128km. From the city center, the best ways to get to Erawan Falls is by bus, taxi or to hire a private car … It takes about 2 hours to get to Erawan Waterfall from Bangkok.
There are bus lines from Kanchanaburi Province to Erawan National Park that 70 km to the northwest. The buses depart once in per hour. Then, it will take an additional 3 hours to go along the trail to the top level of the fall and back down.
Remember to pack your swimwear and towels to swim as there are several natural “swimming pools” on various levels of the waterfall.
Erawan National Park is the attractive destination for numerous tourists in the world, especially for those who love to explore nature. The most fabulous fall is on the third level as there will be a great chance for a dip here. If you want to go trekking, soft shoes and long pants will be useful.
Hiking at Erawan Falls, you will have an opportunity to experience interesting things in the forests, from plenty of shrines wrapped in sacred spirit to the little head of a teddy bear that is on top of a huge rock.
Erawan Waterfall at level five is a fairyland with plenty of miniature falls. If you are lucky, you can have a chance to enjoy the pure and pristine beauty of Mother Nature without too many crowds.
Keep going to the level seven as it is worth your strenuous walk. The turquoise water with the white rocks creates the amazing picture. Jumping right into the water to have a cool swim here will be an unforgettable moment in your life.
What is more, if you soak in the water for long without moving, the fish will nibble your toes and eat your dead skin, it just like a natural fish spa.
From the first level to the seven level of the Waterfall, it takes about 45 minutes to 1 hour.

Note that food is forbidden beyond the second level of the fall. You must pay 20 THB for 1 bottle of any drinks.
