La Siesta Suite

With a service that visitors liken to “coming home”, La Siesta Classic on Ma May Street surpassed many names to rank 12th in the 25 best hotels in the world by TripAdvisor.

With a perfect score of 5/5 for the two criteria “cleanliness” and “service” from more than 7,000 reviews, La Siesta Classic Ma May Hotel became the only representative in Hanoi to be honored in the top 25 best hotels in the world 2024 by the world’s largest travel platform TripAdvisor.

This is the most prestigious ranking in the Travelers’ Choice Best of the Best award system of the travel platform TripAdvisor.

Ms. Nha Anh, a media representative, said that the hotel is oriented towards a boutique model (small scale, cozy) with the goal of becoming a “companion secretary” throughout the vacation of visitors.

“The difference lies in the art of understanding customers,” she said. The staff is highly trained to remember names and grasp each person’s preferences, “from their morning cup of tea to their favorite way of folding the blanket”, thereby providing a personalized experience that few places have.

The space here prioritizes privacy and coziness, suitable for individual travelers or small groups. Therefore, the hotel does not have large-scale facilities such as a swimming pool or children’s play area.

The hotel has 70 rooms, targeting the middle and high-end segment with prices starting at VND2.5 million ($94.66) per night. According to Ms. Nha Anh, this group of guests is mainly foreigners, accounting for 95% of the guests staying here.

The highlight of the suite is the large balcony, where guests can admire the old town through the layers of tiled roofs – a typical scene of Hanoi.

Ms. Nha Anh shared that the philosophy of “serving with all your heart” has helped the hotel win over visitors and have been on TripAdvisor “Best of the Best” list for many years since opening in 2014. “We strive to make every detail, from the aroma, dishes to itinerary suggestions, imbued with the breath of Hanoi, helping visitors have an authentic local experience,” she said.

Centrally located, the hotel is also an ideal starting point for visitors to walk to explore Hoan Kiem Lake or culinary neighborhoods in just a few minutes.

Characteristic of the old town architecture, the staircase from the 9th floor to the sky bar is quite small, creating a sense of exploration before opening up to the airy space above.

The sky bar has a panoramic view of the old town area with the highlight being the Long Bien Bridge model. Here, guests can watch fireworks at Hoan Kiem Lake on special occasions.

Mr. Rafid, a British tourist who stayed at the hotel for two nights with his family, said he often reads reviews on TripAdvisor when traveling. However, he chose this hotel when stopping in Hanoi after reading an article in The Times.

“Everything was as expected, the service was great and the staff helped us a lot,” he said, emphasizing that the food was delicious and had many options.

Located on the first floor, the hotel’s restaurant specializes in serving Vietnamese cuisine, not only for guests but also open to outside diners. The cost for a meal here is about 450,000 VND per person.

In addition, activities to help visitors connect with local culture such as culinary tours, cooking classes and workshops will also be invested in and expanded.
