Traveling to Bali is a trip that will bring us a lot of emotions. Early in the morning, you will catch morning fog at Campuhan Ridge Walk – the road stretches with two immense parallel rows of rice plants. Noon, explore the endless rice terraces at Tegalalang Rice Terrace with the famous Bali Swings, extreme exciting. In the afternoon, wash your soul by taking a magical water shower from the volcano peak at Pura Tirta Empul.
There is no entrance fee at Campuhan Ridge Walk because this is a public area, the sunrise at Campuhan Ridge Walk will not disappoint you.
At Tegalalang Rice Terrace, there are many entrances to rice terraces through large and small restaurants, there also are many donation boxes at the entrance to the rice fields, because it is the private field, but there are many beautiful angles to take photos, so you should prepare some little money to contribute (IDR 5.000 to IDR 10.000/person).
Refer to the day tour of exploring Goa Gajah, Rice Terraces, Tibumana Waterfall, and Traditional Village Trip in Ubud. Link book the tour here.
In addition, you can play swing in this area, there are many swing spots here. We recommend while visiting Bali, you should play swing once and the best location is at Sai Mai (you can search google for this shop) – the shop has both a swing and a bird’s nest to live virtual, the price is IDR 150.000/person, if you go with a large group you can bargain directly to the owner (may be down to IDR 100.000/person). The restaurant also has lunch and drinks, especially very tasty and the price is not too high.
At Pura Tirta Empul, the entry price is IDK 50.000, sarong rent price for bathing is IDK 15.000. Legend has it that when the volcano awakened, the lava flow ran down the plain, but when it came to the temple, it turned to another direction, so the people of Bali strongly believed in the holiness here. In addition, the water in the temple is from a stream running straight from near the crater to the temple, bathing the water here will help you clean your soul (according to Bali belief).
Bali itinerary 8 days — Day 5: Luxurious relaxing with Floating Breakfast, Infinity Pool & Flower Bath
Having come to Bali, why not try experience of luxurious relax once with Floating Breakfast and Flower Bath, and Calma Ubud Suite & Villas (A top rated 4-star hotel with room rates from $81/night (You can check rates, reviews and book on Agoda.com or Booking.com) is the place could not be more wonderful when the price is reasonable and the location is quite close to the center of Ubud. Room rates in Calma Ubud is about IDR 2.150.000 for a double room/night, and services price of Floating Breakfast (IDR 90.000) and Flower Bath (IDR 120.000).
Noon, afternoon, we continue the journey to the north of Bali, the next place is Handara Gate Resort (there is a Hindu Gate like Lempuyang Temple) – about 1.5 hours drive from Ubud. In the past, there was no fee for taking photos. Later, because the tourists were too crowded, they collected IDR 30.000/person just to take pictures. In fact, the road to Handara is beautiful but very steep and the air is as cold as Dalat, near the place where there is a very large lake like Xuan Huong Lake, really, the backpacking trip to reach here is very cool and wonderful. In addition, you can also visit Ulun Danu Beratan, one of the excellent Hindu temples in Northern Bali.
8 days in Bali — Day 6: Journey to discover the ancient temples of Eastern Bali
The temples on this journey are Lempuyang Temple, Pura Tirta Gangga and Besakih Temple. These are the oldest famous temples in Bali with rich history and interesting legends about Hinduism. Because these locations are quite far from Ubud (about 2 hours drive), rent private car is the most suitable option for this journey (cost about IDR 600.000 for 4 person). Some famous private drivers need to know when going to Bali: Yoko (can be contacted via Whatsapp or FB), Ketut Wita, …
You should start the journey early to avoid overload from tourists, 7am departing is the best time. Lempuyang Temple is the first place to go because it has a famous heaven gate across social networking sites so many tourists are willing to wait 3 hours just to take photos with the gate. Pura Tirta Gangga – an ancient temple with a huge swarm of koi fish – will be the next place and finally the sacred mother temple Besakih Temple. However, you can deal with the driver to take an suitable itinerary depending on where you were the night before.

8 days in Bali — Day 7: Journey to discover majestic waterfalls and sunset
Bali is a convergence of the diversity of natural landscapes: mountains, rice fields, the sea, and of course the presence of so many majestic waterfalls. Bali is like a museum of types of waterfalls, there are many large and small waterfalls spread throughout Bali, such as: Leke Leke, Git git, Tegenungan, Sekumpul, … Today’s journey will explore a waterfall has a wild beauty but no less spectacular, it’s Nung Nung Waterfall.
Nung Nung Waterfall is located about an hour drive from the north of Ubud. The road to the falls is quite easy to go, from the gate it takes about 20 minutes walk to the waterfall. Tickets to the falls is about IDR 30.000/person. Here you can freely explore and immerse yourself in the cool water of the waterfall. Usually the waterfalls in the northern region of Ubud are very nice, deserted tourists because they are quite far from the center of Ubud.

Noon, return to the center of Ubud to explore Ubud Art Market to buy gifts, you should remember bargain at anytime, anywhere when you go to Bali and boldly pay reduce price at 3, 4 times. At Ubud Art Market sells a lot of souvenirs, especially rattan bags. In Ubud, it is difficult to call Uber, Grab or Bluebird, because here they protect the local driver, so you should find the local driver first to return to Kuta and avoid wasting time finding for drivers. From Ubud to Kuta is also quite far, about 1 and a half hours longer but also stuck in traffic – cost about IDR 300.000/trip.
In the afternoon, watching sunset at La Plancha in Kuta – the beach has colorful lazy chairs. Sip a beer, listen to tropical house music and admire the moment the sun goes down to the sea like a fire. One of the unforgettable experiences of Bali trip.
Bali itinerary 8 days— Day 8: Walking around the coastal city of Kuta
Morning, free to walk and explore the coastal city of Kuta, you can continue to buy souvenirs along the main road. According to my experience, you should go to Kuta to buy gifts because the variety of things here and much cheaper than in Ubud, no need to bargain. Unlike bustling Ubud in peaceful style, in Kuta bustling and vibrant in the modern style. One of the cute, nice and affordable homestays is Cara Cara Inn (Agoda.com or Booking.com) from $5/night for backpackers.
Noon, check out the hotel, package the luggage to the airport, goodbye Bali.
SUMMARY: The trip to Bali is really great for those who like to freely explore and experience because Bali has both mountains, forests, lakes, waterfalls, and beaches, … in general “Feel multi–emotion in nature”. Each trip leaves a feeling, but for Bali it is a variety of emotions.
The total trip cost is about $538 – $560/person.
