Koh Lipe Island
This island is located on the border of Malaysia, there are about 1000 people living on the island. Around the island, there are many high-class resorts. Koh Lipe has three main beaches: Sunset Beach (Hat Pramong), Sunrise Beach (Hat Chao Ley) and Pattaya Beach. The calm, clear waters make Ko Lipe ideal for snorkeling, with 25% of the world’s tropical fish species found in the area.
Popular activities for visitors include watching natural features, water sports like diving and kayaking, boat trips to nearby islands and reefs like Ko Usen and Ko Kra. Guests can watch the sunrise on Sunrise beach and join the nightlife on Pattaya Beach.
Koh Samet
Named after the tree ‘Samet’ (Thai for cajeput), which grows on the island’s abundant, crescent bay with fine white sand, it hosts a variety of water sports and nightlife.
Just a 3-hour drive from Bangkok and about a 45-minute ferry ride from Ban Phe wharf on the mainland, the island is often packed with visitors on weekends and long holidays. A wide range of accommodations, from beachfront chalets to luxury cliff resorts cater to equally diverse groups of travelers.
Similan Islands
Koh Similan is one of the most famous island groups in the Andaman Sea, one of the top 10 most interesting diving areas in the world, this small archipelago has also become a favorite destination for yachts and tourist boats.
But the most striking feature of these islands, at first glance, are the huge rocks scattered on the west and south coasts on several islands. Another highlight, as visitors soon discover, are the coral white sand beaches, which are picturesque and often deserted.
Koh Phayam
Koh Phayam is the second largest island in the Andaman Sea off the coast of Ranong province. Ko Phayam has no roads suitable for cars, so motorbikes are the main means of transportation. Tourists rent motorbikes or motorbike taxis at the pier and travel along the road to the resorts. There are two major beaches/bays namely Ao Yai and Ao Kao Kwai (Buffalo Bay).
Koh Phayam is said to be one of the most beautiful islands of Thailand, the island is growing fast and is no longer deserted. Tourists have found this place, the beaches have key resorts and prices are going up.
Koh Mai Phai
Koh Mai Phai’s beach is one of the most beautiful beaches of all the Phi Phi islands. Composed of white sand as fine as talcum powder, the beach is surrounded by clear turquoise water. Beautiful coral reefs lie close to the shore and provide an unforgettable underwater scene for snorkelers.
This beautiful little island is just a short stretch of white sand rising from the sea, about 600 meters wide and 700 meters long, shaped like a heart. Its central part is covered with lush vegetation, mainly casuarina and bamboo trees, hence its name. In the northeast of the island, under the trees, there is a small bar for visitors, serving drinks and snacks
Koh Yang
This tiny island is just a limestone cliff jutting out into the sea, about 900 m wide and 150 m long, shaped like a bent nail. Here, not far from the shore, there is a three-headed limestone peak mostly covered with colorful gardens of soft and hard corals, home and shelter of an abundance of marine life. Even scuba divers here can see large schools of reef fish and blacktip reef sharks.
Koh Phi Phi Don
Phi Phi Don is a non-volcanic island largely made of limestone. It is roughly split into two islands, but a flat strip of land connects them. On this strip is the largest settlement on the island, as well as most resorts.
Koh Phi Phi Leh
Phi Phi Leh is an uninhabited island, located 1.5 km from the southernmost tip of Phi Phi Don. Beautiful vertical cliffs covered with green foliage give way to small sandy beaches and tropical coral seas. Most tourists roam around Phi Phi Leh on a boat tour organized by Phi Phi. However, you can hire a longtail boat for the trip depending on your needs.
Sama Bay is located in the southern part of the island, the only activity here is excellent snorkeling to discover beautiful corals and tropical fish. Boats moored in shallow water, swimmers feeding fish and snorkeling.
Koh Bida Nok
Koh Bida Nok and Koh Bida Nai are two small islands at the southernmost tip of the Phi Phi island group. About 1.5km south of Koh Phi Phi Leh, the two islands are made up of limestone rocks rising from the Andaman Sea. In terms of size, Koh Bida Nok is larger than Koh Bida Nai.
The island is a favorite discovery spot for many professional and amateur divers. Divers usually enter the water on the east side of the island and move south around these rocks. This is home to many species of marine life, including zebra sharks and rays lying on the sand.
Koh Bida Nai
Koh Bida Nai island is made up of limestone rocks rising from the Andaman Sea. Although Koh Bida Nai is smaller than Koh Bida Nok, it is not inferior in abundance. Giant rocks fell from the limestone cliffs in the past, now bringing Koh Bida Nai an amazing natural scene, providing a memorable diving experience for those who come here to explore.
Besides the lush marine life, somewhere here people also find walruses crawling on the rocks. Unlike Bida Nok, scuba divers can visit east of Bida Nai because the sea here is moderately shallow, ideal for diving and exploring the ocean.
Koh Mak
Koh Mak is a small island in the east of Thailand located between two islands: Koh Chang and Koh Kood. Koh Mak has quite a few hotels and guesthouses, so it’s easy to see why the island is pretty empty of tourists. You also don’t expect to be “knuckled” through the night in Koh Mak. Because this place is only suitable for sightseeing, walking the beach and other light recreational activities.
Koh Kradan (# best islands in thailand)
Koh Kradan has four main beaches: Koh Kradan Beach, on the east side of the island with shallow corals and tropical fish, is a popular spot for snorkeling along the 2km stretch of beach. You can also see Koh Libong and Koh Mook from here.
To the south, there is an 800 meter long beach called Ao Niang. On the north side of the island, you’ll find a smaller but equally beautiful sandy beach called Ao Pai. Ao Chong Lom Beach found on the west coast for glorious sunsets. Hiking up the island’s hill you’ll be rewarded with amazing views of Koh Rok and stunning sunsets.
Above are the top beautiful islands of Thailand that we would like to introduce to you. Hope you will have the right choice for yourself and have great experiences when visiting this land of Golden Temple!
