Taipei, Taiwan

  • You should explore the historical sites and museums during the day, after that, you can go shopping or enjoy local cuisine at night.
  • The local eateries and restaurants are inclusive of service charges so you do not have to pay extra. As for Western restaurants, you might have to add a tip on that bill.
  • The MRT (Taipei subway) system is the cheapest and the easiest way to get around Taipei. All of the stations are fully booked, and there are also English signs attached.
  • If you are planning to stand on a scramble, you should stand on the right, leaving the left side for those who hurry to walk up.
  • If you are short on time you can take a taxi. All have kilometers and prices are cheap. You can catch a taxi on almost every street in the center.
  • If you visit Taipei during the summer months, you should consider buying a sun umbrella (UV lamp) sold in the streets.
  • You should buy EasyCard (can be recharged) to use MRT.
  • You can refer to iVenture Cards when you come to Taipei. This card offers many incentives, promotions as well as free entrance tickets for many popular venues in the city.
