Hoang Su Phi, a district of Ha Giang, often draws the attention of visitors with its striking terraced fields, which were recognized as a “national heritage” site in 2012. You will be amazed at the picture-like landscapes of yellow terraced fields spreading to the horizon.

In Hoang Su Phi, the crop season lasts from September to October, when the weather is pleasant and ideal for tourists to enjoy the North West of Vietnam. Rice plants in Hoang Su Phi are longer and terraced fields are situated at a higher altitude compared to those in Mu Cang Chai of Yen Bai province. + If you travel by motorbike, you can choose the route from Hanoi – Ha Giang city – Bac Quang – Tan Quang – Hoang Su Phi – Xin Man – Coc Pai – Lao Cai – Hanoi.
+ If you travel by car: take a minibus at My Dinh station at 260,000 – 300,000VND/person. Stop at Bac Quang T-cross and then take another minibus to travel about 58km, you will arrive at Vinh Quang, a town of Hoang Su Phi.
Hoang Su Phi is a mountainous area, located in the west of Ha Giang, right at the foot of Tay Con Linh peak. This mountainous district is separated by many high rocky mountains and streams creating a magnificent natural retreat, a real dreamlike destination for those, who love walking.
Tourists can view terraced fields in all hamlets of Hoang Su Phi district, but mostly in Luoc village, Phung village, Thong Nguyen village, Ho Thau village, Nam Ty or San Sa Ho village with a total area of 765ha.
